Hey Kriesi, was the update pushed? I checked twitter/facebook and didn’t see anything. Thanks in advance.
Has anyone else had this problem? While Kriesi is in update mode, I investigated this further because I was going to suggest that he work on an update for this. However, as I went to recreate the problem, it seems to be resolved. I’m wondering if it was a vimeo issue all along, and they fixed it on their end. Thoughts?October 30, 2012 at 7:30 pm in reply to: Choices Videos don't play on Mobile devices: (Youtube/Vimeo, on iPhone and iPad #94049
I installed Firebug but couldn’t find anything. It still doesn’t work on my site, your example site. I noticed that Kriesi has been posting on the Choices forum. I hope to see an update soon. Thanks!October 22, 2012 at 7:11 pm in reply to: Choices Videos don't play on Mobile devices: (Youtube/Vimeo, on iPhone and iPad #94047
Nick, thank you for posting and investigating via “i” devices. Please try upgrading to iOS 6. We bought the Choices theme while running iOS 5 on my iPad and iPhone. Our site is very video heavy (all Vimeo.com embeds) and the videos played fine on my iPad and iPhone. As you described, they were an A. We were very pleased.
Somehow, iOS 6 messed that up. Since the update, we can not play any videos. We are now directing people AWAY from our site to view our videos on Vimeo.com. This is not good. Please continue to push Kriesi to resolve this issue. Thanks.
I am investigating Firebug for the iPad and will see what I can come up with to help you. Thanks.October 2, 2012 at 1:08 pm in reply to: Choices Videos won't play on Mobile devices: (Youtube/Vimeo, on iPhone and iPad. #92329
Same problem here, using iframe videos from Vimeo.com. We started using the Choices theme prior to IOS6 and had no problems. Now the videos won’t play. If you’re on an iPhone/iPad and navigate to Vimeo.com, the videos plaly fine. It’s not vimeo, it’s something to do with the Choices theme. Thanks in advance for your help!
I realize they can’t open an embedded video as fullscreen video. The page loads like normal & when you click play, the video starts normal, in it’s normal place, not full screen. However, when a user clicks on the cross in the bottom right corner of the video, the video gets lost in the “preview image” box as it tries to go full screen. Sometimes it just disappears. Please advise.
Update: This blows my mind. On my macbook laptop, screen resolution of 1440×900, the video goes to full screen properly. However, iMacs with resolutions of 1920 x 1200 and 2560 x 1440 don’t work.
It’s in your Choicces Theme Options. Look for “Header textarea above Social media icons” under the Social Icons
I’ve never had an issue getting a response from you guys. Are you going to be able to help us?
Ok, I’ve been trying really hard to fix this, searching your forums and elsewhere. I’ve figured out where to change the portfolio permalinks (https://kriesi.at/support/topic/change-permalink) and did so: still not fixed. I’ve checked and double checked theme files, version, plug-ins, etc. This is really causing problems with visitors not able to access our content!
I’m sorry guys, I didn’t know that Kriesi had released a cleancut update that could be downloaded on Themeforest.net. If anyone else has similar issues, update your JS folder in the cleancut theme and you should be fine!
Thanks Dude, I’ll try that and post back here if I find any conflicting plug-ins that cause problems with CleanCut.
That fixed it, but brings up some questions on why the 3.2 JS folder would cause the slider to break in only some installs of CleanCut. Could it be one of our plug ins?
Sorry, I forgot to leave a link. http://fwcflorence.com
Currently, I’m reverting my JS folder to the 3.1.4 version. After reading some of the posts on the Avisio support forum, I think this may resolve my issue. Any further help would be appreciated.January 25, 2011 at 2:09 pm in reply to: How to use the sidebar news widget to display portfolio items instead of posts? #39527
Perfect! Thanks so much, this will be a great asset to our website. One note: I tried using category IDs to only pull certain portfolio entries, but it did not work. Once I left the Cat ID field blank (in the widget area), my portfolio entries started popping up! If there is any way to only pick certain categories, that would be awesome. If not, this is still an awesome tool.
Thanks for the quick reply. You said Habitat, but does it work for Cleancut as well? With a quick glance at the code I think it would work but it’s not exactly what I was hoping for. Now I think I may need to duplicate that widget, and alter the duplicate to display the portfolio items.
We already use the Cleancut Sidebar News in a few places so I’d like to keep using that. So can I have an additional widget that does the same thing except for portfolio items? Thanks for your help!
I’m looking for help with # 3 as well. In the Sidebar & Footer section of the Cleancut Options there are no opportunities to adjust PORTFOLIO post’s sidebars. I would love to be able to customize the sidebars in our portfolio items. Thanks!
Sorry to be a pain, but it keeps giving me a syntax error. I know that I’m missing a small detail here…
I placed the new code in the kriesi_post_thumb.php and changed ‘alt_field’ to my custom field. Am I doing something wrong or not adding the right code somewhere?
Where should I add the “get_post_meta” php code to add custom fields to the html text.
Yea, it’s doing the same thing for us. To be honest, it sucks. I’ve been looking all over Vimeo and other forums and will post something here when I find out an answer. Also, I noticed that your videos won’t go fullscreen either. That annoys me more than anything. I’ll deal with the smaller video popping up, but I want my viewers to be able to easily go to full screen.
Please post here if you find a solution, and I’ll do the same. Thanks.
Vimeo just recently launched a new player. All of our videos stopped working as well and we had to repost them all. It was agrivating, but hopefully the new video player is worth it.
Great! Thanks James. I got the links to work, but it’s placed a blue box behind the image. I’m assuming it has something to do with the class=”more-link” and CSS, but I figured that I would ask you first.
I would like to get remove the blue box altogether, or at least make it the same size as the image outline. Any suggestions?
We launched the new site, so the domain is now http://fwcflorence.com. PS – The theme is just awesome, everyone loves our new site!
I was able to fix mine by using the <!–more–> inserted into the page where I wanted the text to wrap. Make sure you add it to the html where you want the “Read More” button to be on the home page.
You can see the example on my website: http://www.new.fwcflorence.com
The mainpage Columns 3 & 4 have used the <!–more–> code
