Thanks for this. It’s a little bit better, the background image doesn’t scale up as large as it did (gigantic!) – now it’s pretty small, I suppose occupying about the same screen real estate percentage as the desktop view. Does then sit right at the top and crops off so looks wierd. Also now the image with hotspots area above doesn’t get corrupted (it used to disappear altogether) when scrolling back up, so again, a bit better!
Still not 100% happy and hope to see mobile improvements with emphasis on background image handling in future iterations.
Cheers.

Hi, please provide a response soonest.

April 6, 2015 at 9:44 am in reply to: Background images massively distorting in scale on mobile #423851Hi Andy, thanks for your response. This is not a new request.
http://freelancewebdesign.co.za/work/imaginarium-branding-web-development/Here are screenshots with labels I’ve added (in red):

andrewb.co.za/misc/bg-im/02-nexus.jpgCompare please with your desktop browser(s). There is another thread I opened with same issue but different website. I’ve received no reply to that. I have screenshots for that too, but will hold off on those and not add to this thread.
What I see on my Nexis in the background image displaying at normal size (100%) for literally a milisecond, then it re-renders as you see here, with huge increase in scale. Might give you a clue as to why?
So it’s not only a Google Nexus device bujt also my Nokia 520 with Windows Mobile 8 and Internet Explorer. The image behind the hotspots disappears and the image that was from the colour section below is then underneath, the mobile labels that follow only show the numbers, not the labels themselves. Image with hotspot feature is completely unusable. Please do investigate, this isn’t all that hard/software specific and shouldn’t be too hard to replicate!!!!
Yeah that fixed it – thanks. This just had to be a bug? Why did it occur – I didn’t change anything?! Anyway, hope it can be ‘fixed’ on an update?!
Thanks for swift response!
Simple prev and next UI elements for portfolio items. In this case orange with big border radius and white arrow icon.
Hi there, there is an issue that still remains, the UI elements disappear on mobile views for purely the one site, there are no custom rules within media queries (specifically mobile) to hide anything. Please do take a look:
http://indlovu.org/africa/gallery-item/muddy-puddles/
Please note I added the code supplied, yet I ALSO REMOVED the full screen slider component (used for a footer graphic – now in a section rather).
Let me know soonest why they’ve gone!!!!
Thanks in advance.- This reply was modified 9 years, 8 months ago by fusion01. Reason: more descriptive
Yeah tihs worked nicely, not sure why they disappeared though in the first place as my child theme functions.php file was empty. I think it was when I migrated to the child theme that I lost the custom ‘show UI’ code from within the main theme’s functions.php file.
Can you confirm if one completely overwrites the other? Can they ‘share’ code, working together? Surely the case now or major Enfold functions wouldn’t work?
That worked – thank you. Please DON’T CLOSE this thread though as I still need to test my own website which had nothing new added, always had a full-screen slider yet no UI). I’ll revert soonest.
Thanks for the help thus far!!!

Big question here with this now is when updating the theme and functions.php file, will this mod be overwritten? Have to dig it up each time I update?
Thanks. Well I did neaer the bottom of the theme’s function.php file (located at ‘wp-content’ > ‘enfold’ > root) but the site fails to then load with the error: “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘function’ (T_FUNCTION) in /usr/www/users/freelan/newsite/wp-content/themes/enfold/functions.php on line 433”
Please advise further.
For gallery etc, I would like an additional option assigned when one selects ‘lightbox’. The only option now is to open the same image once again. Ideally one has the option of (1) same image – could be default, and (2) open a different image > select file.
for example, one shows a final logo as thumbnail but upon click shows the concept art that came before (and not neccessarily the same logo once again, that’s just repetition).
Cheers!
November 5, 2013 at 6:33 pm in reply to: Logo in header not reverting to 100% when scrolling back to top #184873Min heights obviously won’t help revert the logo back to original ‘maximised’ state. But thanks anyway.
November 2, 2013 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Logo in header not reverting to 100% when scrolling back to top #183722Definately happened again yesterday, quite likely after the latest patch. Firefox 25.0 on Windows 7, not tried other browsers and I use them seldom, even for testing. Happens terribly seldom however. Odd glitch it seems.
Brilliant! And I simply created a slimmed down version of the UI for tablets and mobiles where lower screen density applied! :)
Erased everything from my custom.css file and still prev/next portfolio interface elements don’t show in portrait view. I understand space is limited but other options such as via singular main nav link, nav subcategory drop-down or portfolio component (with thumbnail listings) I don’t want.
Your help is appreciated!
ok found and fixed, thanks :)
Thank you!!
Yes, the logic makes perfect sense and I thought this to be the case. Not so much of an issue if they sit on top or even underneath (and one scrolls down for them to then be revealed). Does this PHP file get overwritten each time I apply an Enfold theme update? Thanks for your assistance!
Much was made of the SEO update but what about a migration (when possible) to a smarter methodology of image preperation for mobile devices? Right now these graphic-intensive sliders are killing my optimisation.
IE:
http://mobile.smashingmagazine.com/2013/10/24/automate-your-responsive-images-with-mobify-js/
http://www.mobify.com/mobifyjs/v2/docs/image-resizer/If possible, then surely a huge step forward for the theme? :)
For the ICONBOX feature, can you please remove the default content that is inserted into the content field. That relating to the field titled ‘content’ with subtitle ‘Add some content for this IconBox’. ‘Click here to add your own text’ is not neccessary and simply repetition. My reason is that I only want an icon and title, no ‘content’. If I clear all content in this field but do work on other elements on the same page, often it reverts across each and every iteration. By leaving the field blank it is then entirely optional. Should be quick to fix – thanks! :)
Thanks but this is a global mod and not on a slider-by-slider / individual basis. It should be an option within each for each modal options menu popup in WP. I also cannot assign a unique section ID to an individual slider as the ‘fullwidth easy slider’ does not allow for embedding into a ‘color section’ for some peculiar reason (in spite of the section spanning 100% page width and not defined to page content width).
Not sure if this has been covered as I do not have have time to dig deeper at present, apologies if a repeat request.
For the sliders, ie. full-width easy slider it would be really beneficial to have the auto-rotate active but then to have a further option to either display or hide the slideshow controls. Once auto-rotation is active, the controls show by default and there is no way to deactivate them. They aren’t a pre-requisite and I hope this option can be added ASAP please.
thanks Devin :)
May 13, 2013 at 10:17 am in reply to: Duplication of the 'portfolio items' category (taxonomy?) #118532ok no worries, I have access to a great WP developer for custom dev, cheers.
awesome, thanks a million for the advice :)
Also note the upwards pointing arrow at the bottom of image thumbnails. Nice to see that removed if there is no title and excerpt as I think it then serves no purpose other than to be purely cosmetic.
