It worked! Thanks see ttw.org.uk
Do I need to repeat that each time the theme is updated?
Philip
Hi Ismael,
Sorry for the delay I didn’t get notified of your response even though I ticked the box.
Sorry to be so dim but where do I put that code please?
Philip
Hi Mike,
Thank you for taking the time to send that detailed response especially with all the helpful screenshots of the various editors.
I have found it now and see that it applies to posts, portfolio items and even in our case calendar items (although the link below just refers to posts)
wordpress.org/documentation/article/page-post-settings-sidebar/#excerpt
What baffled me is that I could not find it by running a search in the code generated in a browser
Anyway with your help I have located it now and I’m hugely grateful
Thank you
Philip

Hi Ismael,
Thank you for your continued support on this. I actually tried the above before. I ran a search for the Latin words in the text editor but they do not appear in the code anywhere. It doesn’t make sense to me. Anything on that page should appear in the code shouldn’t it?
Would you like access to the website so that you can have a look?
Sincerely
Philip
Hi Ismael,
I’ve done that and waited 48 hours of the same problem.
I’m wondering if we have crossed wires here. I’m referring to the search results generated by Enfold.
To re-create the problem please enter the word ‘fox’ into the search box here ttw.org.uk and look at the top result ‘Fox’s field’ and you will see ‘Aenean massa. Cum sociis natoque’ in the sub text.
I’m going to ask what may seem like another silly question… Is the theme search managed by Google? Or did you think my original question referred to Google search?
Always learning… Thank you for your help in advance
Sincerely
Phillip
January 3, 2024 at 6:47 pm in reply to: Change the "Portfolio Items" name in admin to something else #1429201Hi Mike,
Thank you so much for taking the time to send a detailed response…
I’ve just checked the settings and I can see that the permalink has been changed in the settings presumably because of the temporary fix I made in register-portfolio.php file as mentioned at the top of this thread. And I’m presuming that this will be over written when the theme is updated.
I also noticed that Rikard said back in August 23 2020 “You can change the portfolio permalinks under Settings->Permalinks in the WordPress menu”
So I’m going to ask what is probably a daft question… Do I still need to copy and paste all of the code into functions.php file?
I’m very much in front end user as you can tell so forgive my ignorance
Sincerely
Philip
December 29, 2023 at 10:54 am in reply to: Change the "Portfolio Items" name in admin to something else #1428990Hello there…
I can see this is quite an old thread but it’s the only one that relates to what I’m doing (as far as I can see).
I’ve performed the actions in the first comment by Yigit and that worked fine. Then I tried the permanent method below it but that does not work (for me anyway). I’m useless at code just about managed to copy and paste chunks or make small changes… I almost always use the visual editor.
Perhaps somebody could tell me where to place a piece of custom code to make this a permanent fix for me? I’m trying to change the Perma link from ‘portfolio-items’ to ‘sites’ as seen here:
ttw.org.uk/sites
In the meantime I will keep the temporary fix in place
Sincerely
Philip
Hi Ismael,
I followed your new instructions:
1. I created a back up / restore point
2. I Disabled CSS file merging and compression (Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings)
3. I added the code provided to functions.php file (At the bottom)
4. I Deactivated to speed optimiser plug-in provided by SiteGround
5. I manually deleted the whole dynamic_avia folder & contents (bc time-consuming selecting 1000’s of individual files)
6. I changed one of the theme options (in this case blog post layout – from elegant to modern)
7. I saved changes
8. It looks like it worked! I can see the dynamic_avia folder has been recreated & contains 3 new filesThank you for your support and for what I think is possibly the best theme on the available
I thought it appropriate to post this here as others may find it useful
Sincerely
Philip
Hi Ismael,
I followed your instructions:
1. I created a back up / restore point
2. I Disabled CSS file merging and compression (Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings)
3. I added the code provided to functions.php file (At the bottom)
4. I manually deleted the contents of the dynamic_avia folderWhen I checked the website it looked quite different… In fact every page I looked at had lost some kind of styling or background et cetera. So I have had to run a full restore.
I have read the links below several times but still cannot figure out what to do
Some other points:
In this thread (https://kriesi.at/support/topic/delete-contents-of-public_html-wp-content-uploads-dynamic_avia) to Geert you said “Did you check the option to delete the old CSS and JS files under Enfold->Performance? If not then please try doing so”. I have looked for this option but I can’t see it.
Do I need to add the code you provided in the thread above after each upgrade? How important is this code and how come it doesn’t ship with the software? (please forgive me I am in front end user and don’t understand this very well)
As I host with Site Ground I use SG Speed Optimizer (https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/sg-cachepress) that includes Memcached, Minify CSS Files, Combine CSS Files so presumably I do not need to use Enfold’s performance options?
I’m going to need a bit more help to get this problem solved
Thank you
Philip
Hi Rikard,
Thanks forgetting back I have upgraded support and paid for a year
Apologies for the delayed response I wasn’t notified that you had sent a message
At the moment the site is just in development hence the slightly strange name
The details are in the private content box
Sincerely
Philip

Hi There,
I have the same problem with my website. The Dynamic_Avia folder is full of thousands of files (4.8GB)… In fact it’s forced me to upgrade my hosting package which I didn’t want (or need) to do. Although I can see the issue I don’t know what to do about it. Is it okay to delete the contents of the Dynamic_Avia folder?
Sincerely
Philip
Hi Rikard,
Well done…. That worked!!!
Why is there a difference between FTP overwrite & delete / replace?
If doing it this way effects many people, maybe its worth changing the ‘how to install vid’ ?
Much relief anyway… Now excitedly looking at the new theme changes
Thanks again for the best theme ever!
Philip
You have released the latest version so as you suggested I tried updating through WordPress & got the following….
………………………………………………………………………………
Installing Theme from uploaded file: enfold.zip
Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…Destination folder already exists. /home/flipkco1/public_html/capeverdeholidays/wp-content/themes/enfold/
Theme installation failed.

So I tried updating the theme via FTP using filezilla and I get this…
………………………………………………………………………….
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /home/flipkco1/public_html/capeverdeholidays/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php:14) in /home/flipkco1/public_html/capeverdeholidays/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php on line 12

I have performed a restore in cPanel and the site is back online again, however I am truly stuck without your help.
I am happy to give you server access / pay or what ever it takes to sort this out
Look forward to hearing from you soon
Philip
Thank you for the useful link, I will have a deep read later.
I will wait for the next Enfold update. Any idea approx when that will be?
Philip
Hi Rikard,
I am a bit new to this and do not know what a staging version is or how to do it.
I see you have a notice that says ‘NEXT UPDATE Enfold 4.2.7 will be released during the first two weeks of April’ if I wait for that maybe it will iron out this bug?
If not I will try test it on the live version. Maybe delete events_countdown.php etc
I have learnt how to do a system restore after yesterdays crash ;o)
Looking forward to hearing from you
Philip
Hi Rikard,
I followed your instructions and replaced the enfold file with the freshly downloaded one but it broke the front end & wp-admin
I have added a link to DropBox screen shots of the errors plus short conversation I had with our host below
Apologies for the bit that says “they take days to respond” I was panicked and needed the site back on line ASAP.
I have restored from a backup now, so take your time ;o)
Thanks so much for the support
Best Regards
Philip
