I did some more investigating
the home page will not load
http://350pdx.orgI tried a simple page and that will load
http://350pdx.org/get-involved/teams/I’m not sure if the increase from 64M to 128M may have helped with that because I did not try to load the simple page when it was set to 64M. I had only been testing using the home page.
In any case, more complex pages are still not loading (home page, blog page etc)
EDIT: and the simple pages are sometimes loading but not always

I just changed it from 64M to 128M
That has no effect. The problem is the same
According to the hosting service, the site is not down, but the memory load is so high that a browser returns a 500 internal server error. As I mentioned, switching themes resolves the problem, so something is going on with Enfold.
I’ve spent hours in a chat with the hosting service and they say there is nothing going on on the server side. They say there is something misbehaving with the theme.
As before, I can still get into admin, but not view the site.
I spent two hours yesterday talking with our service provider. Their conclusion after investigation was that there was a problem with the theme. After they said that, I switched themes to 2015 and the site worked. Switching back to Enfold the site does not work. That seems to indicate their assessment is correct. They suggested I contact you.
I am going to talk with them again today as well, but I think there is a problem with Enfold and if so we need your help.
Debug mode is on. No messages are showing up in admin. Site itself is still not working.
I also had to switch back to the theme version (5.3.2) The paid version which I use on other sites, has a bunch of skins. Is it possible to add them to the Enfold version?
Thank you… that works!
Just in case that was not clear, I mean when clicking on the post title, I want the external link to open in a new tab.
Hi Rikard,
Since I couldn’t figure it out, I changed logo concepts and no longer need a solution. Thanks for your reply.
Hi Elliot,
Thanks for your reply. This is a live and busy site. If I do as you suggest, will I lose all my site settings? I am using Enfold Child as a child theme.
Cheers
It is working here now too… for about 12 hours the sharing icons were not showing, but the links were still active. Now the icons are back and displaying as expected.
I don’t know why it happened. For some days, multiple attempts to update Enfold failed and yesterday I tried out a plugin called CSS Hero. Those are the two things that I am considering possible culprits.
Okay… thanks for your reply. I’ll find another way to do what I want.
That works great… I then targeted it specifically for the link post format and that worked too… thanks for your help
What I mean is, you cannot save a gallery as an independent object. It is just a shortcode in a post.
If I want to insert the same gallery in a other post, I can copy paste the shortcode, but then if I want to make a change to the gallery, I have to edit it in 2 or more places. Plus you cannot actually edit the gallery. You have to create a new gallery to replace it (except if you happen to know how to edit the shortcode)
So I thought of using a portfolio item since it is an independent and editable object and if I display it in 5 different posts, I only have to edit the portfolio item in one place. But is it possible to display a portfolio item inside a post? Or do you have some other workflow suggestions? Enfold has so much capability with media, but it seems more aimed at pages not posts.
Thanks
PS – This is the site I’m working on, though I am doing my current testing on a localhost site. http://350pdx.org

Hi Elliot,
I was confused in my explanation. I was experimenting with using the “Blog Posts” element to list Portfolio Items because it allows selection by tags. This means I can put the specific portfolio items I want there.
What I really want is to use the Portfolio Grid because of its ajax preview, but it only sorts by Portfolio Categories. So there appears to be no way to target specific Portfolio Items via tags or post id… If you have a suggestion for some way to do that, I’m all ears. If I use the Portfolio Categories, there will end up being way too many. This is a busy news site.
So if using the Portfolio Grid isn’t gonna work, then I figured to use the Blog Posts element to display Portfolio Items and thus my question of hiding the post info (date).
I’m currently testing on a localhost site, not the active site… so I don’t have a page to show you. I can make one soon though. There is a lot of functionality in Enfold and I am doing all sorts of experimenting to see how to use it for our site.
Thanks for your patience
April 28, 2015 at 3:37 am in reply to: Blog Posts displaying CPT – I want no Title or Post Meta #435763Hi Günter,
I have a localhost site I am experimenting on so it is not available on the internet. It is for an organizations website that I have volunteered to update and I don’t want to figure it out on their live site. Actually I only purchased Enfold theme so I could do this, but I like it enough that I may switch some other sites to it as well.
I used Types plugin to create the CPT (Links) and then display a blog list using the Enfold Content Element “Blog Posts”
The CPT is for links to external articles about the organization. I only want to have an archive and not make the individual posts visible to readers. So actually, it is fine if the title is there, but then I don’t want it to be a link to the single post.
If you really need to see what I am doing, I can use one of my own existing sites, but I would rather not install Enfold there and mess up how it looks just to show you. This seems simple enough that a solution should be pretty generic.
Thanks for your help!
Cheers,
