That didn’t help. I’m using the child theme (enfold-child) but I replaced the blog.php within the main enfold directory, if that matters.
Yes, as it’s the only way to update since your web-based update on Windows is broken. The web update is obviously much more convenient.
You stated in July that you hope were going ask envato or themeforest to shorten the url path. Are there any updates?
I’ve already tried everything you’ve suggested the first time you’ve suggested it.
Rather than suggesting we “hire a freelance developer”, this is very simple. Get a Windows host and try to update the theme. Your theme is the only theme (or plugin for that matter) that is having issues.
Every other theme updates fine. Every plugin updates fine. With so many problems about the same issue when permissions are fine, perhaps you should look into it further instead of suggesting things we’ve clearly already tried.
Hitting Check Manually goes to the WordPress Updates screen that says “Your themes are all up to date.”

No. The install works fine so I guess my only option is FTP since your updater clearly doesn’t work on Windows.

Which fails when it hits PHP’s mkdir function. Using a simpler folder name works.
http://killshotservers.com/test.phpYes. Regardless whether I use the plugin or not (I may end up not), it would still be an issue with posting via Email. I’d like the image to automatically not be displayed by default. If I want it to be displayed I can edit the post later.
That won’t work because some posts do have featured images. I’d just like them to be not showed by default, unless I edit the post and uncheck the option.
