March 29, 2023 at 12:07 pm in reply to: add_action get_footer doesn’t display when last page element is a color section #1402886
“why don’t you solve it by just css”
Cos I’m not cleverer enough!
I’ve tried this and it works. Thank you. And it meant that I annoyed my wife as I lay in bed last night reading up on the CSS Gradient docs.
I also tried the ava_before_footer hook but this still only worked on the pages without a colour section as the last element.
Thank you.
Oops.
That’s done.
This reply has been marked as private.Hi Ismael,
it works now but I’m concerned that I had to switch the editors to get it working. I tried this workaround as I’ve seen other people having the same issue in support tickets. I’m not the only one.
I’ve also got an issue where I can’t apply a Transition preset. I select one, say “Sliding in (from right), the line goes blue and I get a tick and I also see the transition behaviour on the layer but I can’t save it and nothing I do changes the transition.
March 15, 2023 at 4:55 pm in reply to: Line break () adds whitespace before 1st character of new line. #1401277It does.
I’ve scrapped it. It was only when I sat back and looked properly I realised how hideous it looked.
Thank you for your time and help. It’s appreciated
March 15, 2023 at 4:50 pm in reply to: Line break () adds whitespace before 1st character of new line. #1401275I added a span around the seconbd line then nudged it left by 7px;
.de-nudge {display:inline-block; outline:1px solid red; text-indent:-7px;}
March 15, 2023 at 4:47 pm in reply to: Line break () adds whitespace before 1st character of new line. #1401272Now just need to work out how to line them up.
March 15, 2023 at 4:39 pm in reply to: Line break () adds whitespace before 1st character of new line. #1401270Hi,
you are so right. Thank you. it wasn’t a whitespace but half n-dash. I should know as I used to work for a typesetters but I was IT support/systems so didn’t pay too much attention to the world of books.
If I make the second line start with an A then they line up correctly.
Hi Yigit,
Super fast reply. That break has done you the power of good!
I can’t see that feature so I checked my Enfold version and it is 5.1.1 and I see the latest is Dec. 21st, 2022 – Version 5.3.1.1.
My token is valid but not updating even with a manual check so I will go through the usual process to update the theme.
Thank you.

The menu link to the page in question was http.
I’m going to give up this web development lark. Obv it’s not for me :-)

September 30, 2022 at 10:17 am in reply to: Color section with full width content – odd gap down right hand side #1367061Equal height… Bosh. Sorted.
Thank you.
The hideous blue dashed outline was there while I marked it all up. As is the hideous red background.
Thank you once again.

Hi Mike,
that is fab and exactly what I was looking for. Really helps mix the theme up a bit.

Hedley

Thanks for your reply.
I’m not seeing the same as you and my buttons are the theme color of green.
I’ve taken a screenshot of the site in Edge (which I never use) Chrome (Ingognito mode) and Firefox which is a brand new, just installed this moment install and uplaoded the image to imgur.
April 13, 2021 at 12:24 pm in reply to: HOW TO: make the footer and socket have the same background image #1294091Thanks ismael, great to know I’m on the right track.
Will also look at the page as a footer later.
Thank you. I was scratching my head on this one.
Hi Mike,
I ran through what you suggested but it hasn’t made any difference and I am not using a caching plugin.
Hi,
I have the same issue but have found that all I need to do to fix the issue is to Disable Javascript file merging and compression under performance.
No other changes were required. Enabling this again breaks the plugin.

yes please close this ticket. The issue is resolved with the partial release.
Thanks for your help.

sorry for the confusion about the link shortener.
I can confirm that the fix you have in place works and I am able to link to a pdf.
I was going to ask what has been changed but I ran a file compare and it’s quite a lot!
Thanks.

If I use Gutenberg then the page just sits at saving and never actually saves.
If I disable Gutenberg either with that function or in Enfold under > Select your Editor then the page saves instantly but gives a 404.This is only with pdf links. Any other link, either image or website works fine.
I’ll sort out some FTP details to you and add to the ticket.
thanks.
Hi,
are you using the advanced layout editor for the blog pages? If so have you added an excerpt to each of them?
Do you have a link you can provide?
March 11, 2019 at 6:02 pm in reply to: Adding a link to a PDF gives me a 404 error upon saving the page or doesn't save #1077438More information for you:
I’ve have a test page with a link to either an externally hosted or local pdf file and it works fine as long as I just have a full width column and a text block with the link.
I then tried loading a template of another page and as soon as I did this the page would not save. This is the same behaviour I was seeing before.
So far I can’t see which, if any of the elements in that template are causing the issue. If I remove everything then it saves. But pretty much every other element causes this issue.
Hi,
I opened your site in Chrome, right hand clicked on the search icon and selected “Inspect”.
Then looking at which selector was the parent of the search link, I created a selector for it and changed the colour. This was so it didn’t change any other links on your page.
#menu-item-search > a {color:red;}
Hi @roger
I can’t see your screenshot as I’m not a mod so I’m just guessing here (a link to your site would also be helpful) but have your tried reducing the width of the texts parent so it breaks to a new line?
Or use the word-break selector and add a suitable width that creates the result you want.
.exampletxt { -ms-word-break: break-all; word-break: break-all; /* Non standard for WebKit */ word-break: break-word; -webkit-hyphens: auto; -moz-hyphens: auto; hyphens: auto; width: 12em; }
<div class="exampletxt"> Hello there, my name is Roger and I'm trying to get my text to break on to a new line. </div>

and where exactly?
In Enfold->Advanced Styling it says “Select an element to customize”.
Select
<strong>
and then Edit Element and make your changes there.Or, using CSS, and a selector for strong.
eg:strong {color: pink;}

Brilliant. I love those foot in mouth moments. Pass me a spade so I can dig a bigger hole to hide in!
This is not an issue with the theme so the mods won’t be able to help you.
