in reply to: Intra wepage links not working #1468649

    Hi.

Thanks for the recommendation. It worked using characters, not numbers. Question: are these entries case-sensitive? That is, if we use an identifier like “Test”, does the link have read “Test” or will “test” also work?

    Thanks.

Our error. We thought you kept on record the Admin login, which has not changed. In the private content here

You may also wish to look at this webpage (Private Content) if you have any doubt about how we set up internal links. Scroll down from the image at the top and click on “Alphabetical List & Links To Each Artist”

in reply to: Intra wepage links not working #1468365

    Hello.

I have shared a link in private content that shows, quite clearly, that we know very well how to enter and save developer settings. You will see four screenshots of four of twelve text boxes showing how we do this. WE have saved each text box and updated the page numerous times; the liks are STILL not working.

We have followed the same procedures FOR YEARS using Enfold and internal link settings (Developer Settings) on other pages of this website without encountering this problem.

It would be very helpful at this point, and save us and you time, if you could tell us why these links are NOT working on this page, and provide a solution, rather than telling us that we are not setting up these links properly.

    Thank you.

    Hello Ismael.

Please take a closer look. We are well aware of how to do this and have set EVERY text box with the identifiers, over and over again. If there were a way to upload images, we would show you exactly what we have done. The fact is that although we have set these identifiers, they are NOT being saved when the page is updated..

Show us how to upload the images and we will provide you all that you need to see.. Can you do that? We need this problem solved.

    Thank you.

    Thanks, Rikard. That works!

in reply to: Mysterious “Separator” on Webpage #1465698

No. But we do not understand why you are asking this. The line is NOT appearing inside the Special Heading and instead is totally apart from the heading and appearing as if it were in an entirely (and non existent) column..

    in reply to: Text Fold/Unfold Defect-Smartphones #1464182

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for this. Keeping in mind that we wish to use the “fold/unfold” option (“Read more”), if you look at the webpage after the Quick CSS code is added, almost all of the text appears on a phone screen but a bit is still cut off on the right. Problem is worse with images and the image captions. Take a look: the full caption for the the second image is ““Moderne Musik — Moderner Tanz” Karl Jakob Hirsch (Germany, 1892-1952)”. Also, almost all of the image appears but not all, it is cut off on the right. I’ve put the link and its password for this page (the first page) in private content.

We tried duplicating the text box and making one text box viewable only on larger screens and the duplicate only on smaller screens (adjusting responsiveness). The problem is that, then, TWO READ MORE / READ LESS prompts appear on large screens and small.

A larger issue: we copied that page to another (second page in private content) which we must also share to site visitors. Text and images are substantially cut off on the right. We tried duplicating the Quick CSS solution you provided, changing the page number to 35903 but that did not work. Are we limited to just one page for these adjustments?

Bottom line question: Is there a Quick CSS (or any other) solution that will allow for two pages appearing correctly on smartphones when using Fold/Unfold?

    Thanks.

Forgot to turn on email notification. Doing so here.

in reply to: Video Not Appearing Properly As Color Section Background #1429832

RE: “Please note that the “Hide Video Controls” option is intended to work with YouTube and self-hosted videos only.”, we are well aware of the limitation. We have provided all the information you need to examine the page as Administrator. If you look carefully, you will see that the video is self-hosted and has been all along.

So the question remains: why is the player bar showing.?

in reply to: Video Not Appearing Properly As Color Section Background #1429646

    Thanks, Mike.

For many reasons which we’d be pleased to explain, we’ve decided to use a video element in the color section. Before you close the ticket, this question:

In the video player settings, we’ve turned on the “Hide Video Controls” yet when the page loads, the controls appear. How can we fix this?

The same holds for the video lower down in the page.

Note: we have reverted to DRAFT all the test pages we’ve been working with. The live page and password are in the Private Content.

    Thanks,

    Cliff

Thank you, Mike, for the work you are doing to help us. Two questions.

    1) In your earlier comments, you recommended that we turn off Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ JS & CSS file merging and compression and enable Enfold Theme Options ▸ Performance ▸ Delete old CSS and JS files. Have you done that on our site or should we still do that?

    2) Regarding the errors you found in other elements, our practice generally is to create new pages by opening a new draft of an existing page. Do we do better by creating new pages and adding in templated elements? Or would those templated elements carry with them the errors you spotted?

    Best regards,

    Cliff

    Hello Mike.

    Thanks for these suggestions.

    1. You now have administrator access to the website. Same username and password.
    2. The video in both pages has changed. The link is in the private content section.
    3. This question about the Theme Options > Performance changes: in the Child theme, main theme or both?

    Thanks.

in reply to: Video Not Appearing Properly As Color Section Background #1429378

    Hello Ismael.

Thanks for your reply. To answer your questions and respond to your recommendations:

    1. There are no other elements in the color section.
    2. We have installed version 5.6.9.
    3. WordPress itself is fully up to date.
    4. We are providing sign-in information in the Private Content section.

Let us know if there is more that we can do to help solve this problem.

    Thanks.

Ran into the similar problem with version 4.8.5. After update, first color section on home page lost background color section (#000000), which could not be reset to any color. Appeared as white (#ffffff) no matter what. Had to recreate home page top color section and move contents of original color section to new one. New color section background could be reset. Deleted original color section. Top color section on inner pages seem NOT to be similarly affected.

Dear Mike, Vinay and everyone who may have helped…

Thank you! We’re back to paradise. Rollback worked fine. Still pleased to copy the site to a staging site with 4.6 if you’d like to see what was/is happening. Say the word.

    Best,

    Cliff Brody

    Hi Rikard,

Thank you for the file and for the advice. Well said!

If we ftp the files, will that overwrite the settings? We use the Enfold Child theme but do not know if it will “remember” the settings we originally made when first setting up Enfold a few years ago.

Also, we can replicate the current website in a staging site while it is still in 4.6 and then give you access to see the problem for yourself. Would that be a help?

    Cliff

    Hi Vinay.

Added note; This problem even applies to videos directly uploaded to the website Media Library. They will not load as color section backgrounds either. When will you give us instructions for rolling back to 4.5.7?

    Thanks,

    Cliff

    Hello Vinay.

Thank you for your response. We totally LOVE Enfold and everyone there in Support who have helped us so well in the past, but we MUST have the same rollback opportunity that you have already provided to other Enfold users, e.g. #1133137. Please see comments in private section. Please also note that our question to Kriesi about why the Cookie opt-in message is appearing on all pages still goes unanswered. Reread our original ticket and you will find it.

    Thanks,

    Cliff

in reply to: Manage size of (Vimeo) video in color section #1132091

    Hi Mike,

Thanks! Didn’t know about PostImage. Cool resource.

The PostImage link I’ve included in the Private Content is to a 3 image gallery – filenames show the browser view setting for each image. Was in Chrome; does the same in IE11 and Edge – we don’t have Firefox.

I’ve also included a temporary Administrator Username & Password and a link to the page in question if you want to look at the web page structure. The same problem occurs with all of the other pages on our site that have videos as backgrounds in the first color section.

Notes about the page in question:
The first color section, “Headertext-LS”, has the video as background.
The second and third color sections, “Header-SSC” and Headertext-SSC”, are for mobile devices
The fourth color section, “spacer1”, is where we are trying, so far unsuccessfully, to put a set distance between the header (1st color section) and the color section (“whatshere” and everything else after it) that comes below the spacer for non-mobile screens.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Cliff

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for your reply. It is happening consistently, with us and our users. A whole variety of browsers, in different cities. Is there any way we can send screen shorts?

    Thanks,

    Cliff.

    Hey Mike!

Thank you again. Solution works! I’ve included in the private content the key line of code that has the link as we have modified it; the link is appearing on desktops and laptops but not smaller screen sizes. Whether green is the right color … well … we’ll decide that after a glass or two of wine … :)

Your lunch awaits anytime you get here!

    Best,

    CB

    Hi Mike,

Again, thank you. A problem has arise regarding the original solution you provided for the link in the header.

On smartphones or equivalent small screens, the link text appears over the (left side) logo rendering a confusing page-top for the website visitor.

Ideally, the solution would be for the link text NOT to appear at all on small screens, rather than trying to squeeze it in there – too stuff for people to read.

So, is there a way to limit the link’s appearing so that it shows only on larger screens – maybe some code equivalent to the way we can set Screen Options in various elements?

In the meantime, in the functions.php file (In Enfold Child!), we have commented out the code you provided but have kept it in place.

Again, thank you…and if you are ever in Washington DC, lunch is on us!

    Best…CB

    Hi Mike,

No apologies necessary for any delay. Good things take time. We value your help a lot. This worked perfectly.

One more question: to the right of the hamburger menu, there is a header top-to-bottom grey separator line. Is it possible to put one of those to the left of the Search icon (i.e. to the right of the link we are adding in)?

Thank you again for your help.

in reply to: Accordion Elements Making Other Page Elements Disappear #1065551

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for this follow-up. We had turned off the Administrator password just hours before you checked thinking that you folks were really busy. We’ve turned the Administrator status back on for you if you have the time to poke around; the password is still the same (see Private Content below). We had also found a workaround – perhaps not the most elegant – where we have used page include elements to cobble together the home page. We also understand that if a broken HTML tag (or any flaw) is in one page and we use that page as a template, that bad DNA will be carried over to the template etc etc. We’ll follow your instructions about saving pages then previewing but have a question: does that apply to all pages or just ones where accordion elements are used? Also, are we correct in understanding that we cannot investigate where the broken code might be because it won’t appear no matter where we might look?

    Thanks,

    Cliff

Hi Rikard, thank you again. For sure you can close this! Wishing you all the happiest of holidays and the best for the coming year! Cliff

Thank you, Rikard. A perfect fix! Best, Cliff
