  • Dear Mike,

thanks for your very helpful reply!

All seems to work on my page. The only thing that I did not implement was to set each grid row element as 50% of the height. I want the “text column” to determine the height and the “picture column” should just adapt to it. Is it then right to NOT set any height limits on each grid row element?

The extra code for functions.php seems good to me as it works. And it is not related to setting the height to 50%, am I right?

So to replicate the layout of this previously mentioned hotel site, it is best to use grid rows (Rasterzeile) and not colour sections (Farbsektion), am I right?

    Thanks again and best regards,

Me again with some new, positive info!

The original m4a audio files were edited with the program Ableton Live incl. several plugins to improve the sound quality.
The edited wav files (which did not work in your audio player) were now exported as mp3 files and tested by me on the website and these are functioning!
So we will prepare the final audio files in this way and hope that the former problems are solved now (although we still don’t undestand why the edited wav files did not work in your audio player).

in reply to: Audio player not displayed on frontend #1419246

I have tried some other things, and now the audio player with M4A is showing and functioning! Don’t know if you did something in the background or it had to do with my browser cache or alike?

However, our improved files without noise etc. still don’t work. So it would be good to know from you how we best could create our audio files. Which programmes should best be used, which be avoided?

    Thnx and BR!

in reply to: Audio player not displayed on frontend #1419245

Small update: I have tried the audio player with the original audio file (see private field): the borders of the player are visible now, but nothing else… The original file is M4A. Are such files not supported?

The original audio files have been improved to remove background noise. I don’t know yet which software was used for that, I will come back to that later I hope.

    Thanks for your help,
    Cornelie

in reply to: Audio player not displayed on frontend #1419169

Thanks for your update! Good to see the difference.
For the wav-files I don’t know how they were created. These are from the client. They may be created using Audacity.
For the mp3-versions: I used online-audio-converter.com to get them to mp3, because I first thought it had to do with the wav-format.
Yes, it seems it has to do with the saving/export of the audio files. I added an audio player including my wav-file on your test site and it again does not show.

What can you suggest us to do? For example: How to create the audio files? Which programmes should best be used, which be avoided? Would another format, like mp4, be better?
Thanks for your help. Very much appreciated!

Dear Ismael, thanks for your reply!

I have deactivated the file compression and updated the theme, but unfortunately this did not bring anything. I have included an extra audio player on top of the page (outside of a section), but this also stays unvisible on the frontend.

The corresponding HTML for all inserted audio players on that page looks like this:
    <div id=”av_player-2″ class=”av-player av-player-container av-lmht9iej-954d644b722b95f78a1a4b065c7f5c5a avia-playerstyle-classic av_player-2 avia-builder-el-11 el_after_av_textblock el_before_av_hr av-player-hide-playlist avia-playlist-hide-cover”><div class=”av-player-player-container”></div></div>
Perhaps that is of any help to you?

I will also arrange you a login.

    Thanks for your help!

    Dear Mike,

thanks a lot for the modified code for showing the Yoast breadcrumbs instead of the theme ones.

I thought the settings in Yoast were complete before, but I noticed now that not only the “Breadcrumbs für Taxonomies” should be set, but also the “Breadcrumbs für Inhaltstypen” (since here is also a category “Produkte” which need to be set to “Produkt-Kategorien”). Now everything is working fine.

Thanks again! You can close this thread now.

P.S. Also thanks a lot for adding the php-code from the style.css into the functions.php. No wonder it did not work. :-P

    Dear Mike,

    thanks for your reply!

At first I also did not know that this primary category was added by Yoast SEO and not by WordPress, WooCommerce or Enfold. The settings for the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs are set and in my opinion OK. However, still the Enfold (?) breadcrumb is shown. I have used your code (“then use this solution”) in functions.php, cleared the cache, but still the wrong breadcrumb is showing. I think because your code refers to posts and my issue refers to the products in WooCommerce. Could you please alter the code for making it work for products? I have created a login for you, see private content.

    Dear Mike,

thanks for your reaction. Indeed, I now used the Typography panel to set the fontsize for different screen sizes, so the issue cannot be reproduced right now. However, it is good to know that the setting Enfold Theme Options ▸ Advanced Styling ▸ P should apply to all screen sizes. That was not what I found (see above), but perhaps another issue was playing a part. Yes, let’s close this thread, since my initial issue could be solved.

    Thanks a lot!

    Dear Mike,

thanks for your question. I can set the primary category when creating or editing the product in the right-hand panel menu of the product page under Categories.

Because of your question I googled a bit and found out, that setting this primary category is not a default function of WooCommerce. I guess, it comes with Yoast SEO, which is used on this website. Then the options under Categories look like in the screenshot in this article: https://tool-pilot.de/tutorials/wordpress-primaere-kategorie-festlegen/. In Yoast SEO I checked the breadcrumbs settings for product categories and they seem OK. So I’m clueless to what is wrong or missing that it does not work correctly.

Besides, I found this article in the Internet, which suggests to use extra code in functions.php to repair the “faulty behaviour” of WooCommerce breadcrumbs: https://www.udo-telaar.de/woocommerce-breadcrumb-reparieren/.

I would be glad to hear your opinion on all this. Thanks a lot for diving in with me. :-)

    Hi Ismael,

thanks for your tip! In fact, I skipped the Typography panel before because of the intro with “BETA” in it…

It works! However, it took a while before I noticed the modifications on all screen types. I think it was only showing after I deleted the font size in Erweitertes Styling > p. I still don’t understand why an entry here would only work for screens >736px. This wasn’t before, or was it?

    Best regards,
    Cornelie

    Dear Ismael,
thank you for your quick reply with the modified code. It works!
Being on a subpage the mobile menu now highlights this subpage together with its main page (without the other subpages being highlighted), which is very nice.
You can close this thread now.
Thanks and have a nice day,

Hi Ismael, thanks for this clarification. Fully understandable that your focus lies on your theme! Best regards, Cornelie

    Dear Ismael,

thank you very much for your quick reply!

Indeed, your theme is known for its flexibility. So I expect it to combine well with third party plugins and custom scripts needed to enable such an accommodation directory. Do you generally provide support when people are experiencing “challenges” when using third party plugins within Enfold (e.g. suggestions for custom scripts)?

Thanks for sharing the Enfold Hotel Demo. I already looked at it. It is a lovely example, but only for one hotel and presumably not suitable for the listings and search functions wanted. WooCommerce Bookings sounds OK for reservations, but comes with a price…

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

thanks so much for your CSS tips! That was exactly the code I was looking for.

    Dear Ismael,

thanks for your reply regarding a loop in the single post navigation. Would be great if you could include this in a future version of Enfold. Since I am a big fan of your theme, I assume I will be using it for a while. :-)

Is it possible to make layout changes in CSS to the left/right arrow content? For example, the background-color is now black. How to change this color? And the hight is also preset, but unfortunately to narrow to display some of my longer blog titles. How to adapt the hight (or width)?

Thanks in advance for your hints on that.

    Dear Mike,

it seems to work on all pages. Thank you so much!
I also don’t know where this rouge empty paragraph tag is coming from, in the Avia Layout Architect everything looks fine to me.

in reply to: Enfold Single Post Navigation #1327597

    Dear Ismael,

thanks for your quick and useful help! I have included the new code and it works on pages with fullwidth elements.

Is there also a code to add a loop in the single post navigation? That would be great!

I have already included some code (found in your support forum) to only display posts within the same category.
The code to switch the content of left/right arrows with “ASC” (see below) does not seem to work on my pages. Probably the order is already ascending and I should change it to descending”; however, “DES” or “DESC” does not work either. What is the right code for descending?

    add_filter(“avf_post_nav_loop_args”, function($args, $settings) {
    $args[“orderby”] = array( ‘post_date’ => “ASC”, ‘ID’ => “ASC”);
    return $args;
    }, 10, 2);

    Thanks!

in reply to: Enfold Single Post Navigation #1327440

    Dear Ismael,

thanks for this info on the single post navigation. I have activated it in the Enfold Theme options, but it doesn’t show up in most of my my single post pages. What could cause this? I don’t see any difference in the settings on the individual blog pages when comparing the ones that show the next-prev arrows and the ones that don’t show the navigation / these arrows.

Hope you can give me some clues on what to do to enable the single post navigation on all my posts.

in reply to: 100% Column breakpoint #1327401

    Dear Rikard and all,

somehow the change from 4 to 2 columns on my tablets still does not work perfectly, since on 3 pages, two of the columns stick in 1/4 mode instead of changing into 1/2. Unfortunately I can’t figure out why.

Could you please have a look at it again? See also my comments in the private field.

    Thank you so much!

in reply to: Anchor links goes to wrong position on mobile #1327399

    Thanks, Ismael, for your reply!

Indeed, I am using grid rows and normal sections for the page in question, no color sections. I wasn’t aware of the need for using color sections for the working of this code. Thanks for the observation!

However, the heading of your test site is still disappearing below the sticky header on my tablet (also after emptying the cache and working in incognito mode). :-( I provided you with two screenshots on the test page, see also private field.

Since the site should go live soon, I am a bit worried about this issue and I would prefer to deactivate the sticky header on middle-sized screens. Could you please provide me with the code for that? Many thanks in advance.

in reply to: Anchor links goes to wrong position on mobile #1327292

    Hi Ismael,

thanks for your effort and feedback. I did not see the sticky header on your screenshot, but I assume it was there, since you tested it for a middle-sized screen? (tablet) Did you test it virtually, or also on a real tablet?

On two of my tablets it still does not work and the sticky header still covers the anchor headings. Moreover, the code still changes the header on desktop in an inacceptable way! (in all common browsers) Could you see that as well during your test?

It does not work on my following tablets which display the sticky header:
    – Huawei Mediapad M5, 2500x1600px, sticky header and full menu in portrait view covers the anchor headings
    – iPad 3rd Gen, 2048 x 1536px, sticky header and full menu in portrait view covers the anchor headings

The code does not apply to my following tablet:
    – Huawei Mediapad M5 lite, 1920x1200px, NO sticky header and burger menu in portrait view, everything works ok

I would be happy with NO sticky header and burger menu on the two tablets that now show the problem, since the website should go live soon. Could you please provide me with the code for deactivating the sticky header on such middle-sized screens?

Appreciate your work. Thanks a lot!

N.B. I deactivated the code again in functions.php.

in reply to: Anchor links goes to wrong position on mobile #1327012

    Dear Ismael,

thanks for your reply. We did not change anything to our wp login URL, I checked it with your temporary login details and it seems to work fine. However, when trying in another browser it showed me the 404-error. Please see private content for more info.

I activated the code again (in functions.php in Enfold Child – hope this is the right place) and emptied the cache and also used incognito mode. However, the headings are still covered by the sticky header on middle-sized devices. AND the header appearance on larger screens still is disrupted. Perhaps because we used quite some CSS to style the header. The header width is smaller than full-screen as to show the full-screen slide-show image left and right from the (smaller) header. The disrupted header shows shorter no longer the image left and right, but these areas have now a background-color. The linked-in image from the footer now sticks to the logo in the header. The navigation has a slightly changed appearance. Breadcrumps are shown now (although turned off for the whole site) etc.

Another solution instead of the code would be to turn off the sticky header on middle-sized devices (between min-width 991px and max-width 1366px). Could you please provide me with the code for that? The website should go live soon…

Thanks so much for your help!

in reply to: Anchor links goes to wrong position on mobile #1326707

    Dear Ismael,

thanks for you quick reply. Unfortunately, the code does not work properly. I tried other values than 48 (100, 150), but nothing changed, despite emptying the cache repeatedly.

HOWEVER, more important, the code also CHANGES the header on larger screens (at least on my desktop) in an impossible way. I wanted to provide you with a screenshot, but this doesn’t seem possible in this chat. You could use the private login I sent you yesterday to see for yourself what happens. The code is now “deactivated” (using /*…*/) in the functions.php.

I am not sure if there is a code, that does not change the header on larger screens AND at the same time prevent the header from covering headings. So alternatively, the sticky header could be deactivated for middle-sized screens (let’s say between min-width 991px and max-width 1366px). Would you have a code available for applying a sticky header only on screens above 1366px?

    Thanks a lot!

    Best regards,
    Cornelie

in reply to: Anchor links goes to wrong position on mobile #1326488

    Dear Kriesi-Team,

I am experiencing the same issue as found in some other posts, but I do not manage to find the right answer for my case. Hope you can help me!

On larger screens, Desktops & Tablets in landscape (min-width: 991px), I use the full-width menu, incl. sticky header. On one page I use anchor links as menu items. The positioning on Desktops and Phones was not perfect (i.e. heading to close to sticky header (Desktop) or browser-URL (Phone)), so I used the separator line above the heading as anchor point. This is for now satisfying.

However, these anchor links disappear behind the sticky header on Tablets in landscape (max-width: 1366px).

I noticed that probably the scroll offset value for Tablets in landscape should be changed. I don’t know which code should be placed where. I will give you access to the website in the private content.

Thank you so much for your help!
