September 25, 2014 at 11:54 pm in reply to: Latest Enfold theme not working with SEO plugins #325330
I just want to echo that a fix for Enfold’s current incompatibility with Yoast SEO should be a highest priority issue.
The current version of Yoast changes permalinks in Enfold. It’s a serious problem. Reverting to the safe version of Yoast (v 1.5.5 for me) is a fragile, temporary solution that shouldn’t be satisfactory to anyone.September 25, 2014 at 11:49 pm in reply to: Permalink and SEO Settings Problems with Yoast WordPress SEO & Enfold #325329I strongly agree that this is an urgent issue requiring whatever collaboration is necessary between Kriesi and Yoast.
This is a crippling problem, and rolling back the version of Yoast SEO is a fragile, temporary solution.
We need to know this is being dealt with. Incompatibility with Yoast SEO is not an option for Enfold, and Enfold is much too popular and established for incompatibility with it to be an option for Yoast.Hi Yigit. This didn’t work. It targeted the wrong element. (The widget titles rather than the elements of widget text I mentioned.) But I was able to use it to figure out the answers. You can mark this as closed.
Request made. You can mark this as resolved. Thanks.
Thanks Ismael. This works, and is a technique I will use elsewhere. :-)
Please consider this a feature request too though — for the ability to center multiple icon shortcodes in an icon box. It seems like a reasonably common thing to want to do, that ought to be code-free.
Best wishes,
Ben
Hi Josue. This isn’t what I’m looking for. I want to affect the spacing on the whole side menu, not a single item.
On the “Recent News” page (my original link) I want the side menu, “News by Home”, to be a tight list with no spacing between items.
Thanks.
June 26, 2014 at 4:40 pm in reply to: Sidebar background color (or gradient) – full sidebar height, to top of footer #284157I understand.
Is there a way to do this using the styling of an alternate content area? The background color in alternate content areas automatically spans the correct space.
(And can that styling be selective applied to the sidebar on a specific page?)Ben
Thank you Yigit! I appreciate it.
Looks like there’s stray MS-Word code in the old news stories from the site I’m updating.Ben
Easy! Good news. Thanks.
May 15, 2014 at 7:34 pm in reply to: Header background image leaves a trail of copies on scrolling in Chrome #265464I’m pleased and relieved to say that your fix has resolved the problem for me Yigit.
May 14, 2014 at 5:22 pm in reply to: Header background image leaves a trail of copies on scrolling in Chrome #264775It doesn’t solve the problem, at least on some pages Yigit.
Here’s an example page with the issue. Scroll the page quickly up and down in Chrome on a Mac. The browser leaves partial copies of the clouds image, of varying heights and widths. over and under elements on the page.

Thanks.

Thank you. This answer makes clear how I can solve this kind of problem in future.
Thanks. You can mark this resolved, with two comments.
1. If there are clear instructions for use of the Partner/Logo element I didn’t find them. The element works fine, but the requirements are different than I expected.
2. Allowing optional captions below each image would be a good enhancement to this element.
Thanks. This works, but turned out not to be the best solution as the fit of the two images is inconsistent at reduced-size responsive widths. I combined the images in Photoshop.
May 13, 2014 at 9:05 pm in reply to: Hide an element (or change its display order) at narrower page widths #264212Thank you. This works well. I was able to make it apply to all similar pages as follows.
(For anyone wanting to achieve something similar, the general case works only because no other pages have the same layout structure.)
@media only screen and (max-width: 768px) { div.flex_column.av_one_third.first.avia-builder-el-0.el_before_av_two_third.avia-builder-el-first { display: none; } div.flex_column.av_two_third.avia-builder-el-2.el_after_av_one_third.avia-builder-el-last { width: 100%; }}
May 13, 2014 at 7:29 am in reply to: Border and background color for Advanced Layout text block #263769That’s a wonderful solution. Thank you. Very clever, and I can make sure no other pages have this 2/3 + 1/3 structure.
I changed border-left to border to box the right column entirely.
IMPORTANT — a reply to my last question would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/fixed-width-image-to-left-of-responsive-width-content/#post-262951Ismael (and Yigit) — does the approach proposed by Yigit in this thread work? It seems better if it will.
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/sidebar-size-4/#post-262345
Can I define the min-width of .nine.units using media-queries, and have the sidebar occupy the remaining space?
@media only screen and (min-width: 1340px) { .responsive_large .container .nine.units { width: 830px; }} @media only screen and (min-width: 1140px) { .responsive .container .nine.units { width: 720px; }} .container .nine.units { width: 630px; }
If the answer is “yes” (and I hope it is) — I will need an example of how to do one more thing: disable display of the sidebar at the screen size where it no longer works, and have the main content area become full-width.
Thanks
Thanks Yigit. I tried this and it works, but I will edit the images as the better solution.
What is the best way to add captions, as in the old site I am rebuilding? Is there a different theme element I should use?
