June 16, 2013 at 6:45 pm in reply to: Fixed menu on iPad: not fixed in portrait mode, doesn't shrink in landscape mode #123737Hi Devin,
sure, it’s on http://www.presentpro.de – thanks for checking!

June 9, 2013 at 10:00 am in reply to: New bug in 1.6: font icons within icon boxes can't be aligned anything but left #123676I can’t see where I could delete that avia-icon-pos-left bit myself, it’s not part of the shortcode.
I just tried creating a new centered icon box from scratch, inserting a brandnew (centered) font icon. This is what it looks like in the Avia backend:
This is what it looks like on the site:
June 8, 2013 at 7:46 pm in reply to: "Parallax" effect does not work on iPad, and very choppy in Safari (Mac) #123726Hi Devin,
thanks for checking this issue out. Can you please tell me a bit more what you mean by “not having any issues”? So you viewed my site using Safari on a Mac, and the fixed background image behind the three icon boxes scrolled properly?
Here’s a quick screenr video showing what I’m seeing on each of the 5 Macs I’ve tested the site with:
Same site in Firefox (Mac): this is how it’s supposed to look:
Thanks,
Andy
June 8, 2013 at 11:44 am in reply to: "Parallax" effect does not work on iPad, and very choppy in Safari (Mac) #123723Thanks Dude, I wasn’t aware that this is a general issue for iOS. In fact, I’ve just checked a few other parallax themes on iPad (907 etc.), and indeed, no parallax.
So, this leaves the “Safari on Mac” issue. Thanks for your help!
June 8, 2013 at 8:55 am in reply to: "Parallax" effect does not work on iPad, and very choppy in Safari (Mac) #123721Hi andypeck,
it works fine in Safari (Mac) on your end? Can you give me your URL to have a look? Like I said, the fixed background image does move in the color box when viewed in Safari, but with a noticable delay.
Thanks a lot, Kriesi, the 1.6 update fixed it! :)
It introduced another bug though, which I’ve outlined here: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/new-bug-in-16-font-icons-within-icon-boxes-cant-be-aligned-anything-but-left
Also, there are a few other things that are a bit weird on the iPad. The fixed menu doesn’t stay fixed in portrait orientation, and while it does remain at the top border of the screen in landscape orientation, it does not shrink like it does on desktop browsers. And: the parallax-ish effect for color sections does not work on iOS-Safari at all, and is very choppy on Safari for Mac.
I’ll open up separate threads for these, would be fantastic if you could have a look.
Thanks again,
Andy
[please disregard this post. I wrote some stuff about responsinator.com not working properly and thus not being trustworthy, then I realized it was all my own fault. :) ]
Just a quick note: I’ve switched servers as I’m getting closer to going live. You’ll find the site at http://www.presentpro.de/peek for now. I would be really really grateful if we could find a solution here. Thanks!
That worked! :) Thanks so much.
I’m a 90% happy bunny. If we could fix this other issue I’m seeing (https://kriesi.at/support/topic/menu-broken-in-responsive-mode), it would be 100%. :) I have a feeling the solution to that one is similar…?
Dankeschön & servus,
Andy
Yes, I did. Did you have a chance to test it? Does it work on your end?
Thanks formateins, but sadly… no, it didn’t do the trick. The code makes perfect sense to me, but there must be something missing.
This might help: I managed to recreate the issue on a desktop browser as well, both Firefox and Safari on Mac show this behavior when you resize the window to the offending width… which is precisely 768 pixels.
Hi Ismael,
yes, that’s the story: site looks fine on iPad in vertical orientation, you turn the thing sideways… boom, you got your menu PLUS the square responsive menu icon. It also happens if you reload the page in vertical orientation, not just when turning.
Two other things I noticed:
– It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with plugins. I deactivated everything I got running, still the same issue.
– I set up the site from scratch on a new server, it didn’t show the issue when I had only 2 menu items. Now I got 5, and the issue is there. BUT: returning to 2 menu items again doesn’t solve it. I know that’s strange, maybe it gives you guys a hint about what is happening here.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Hi Ismael,
I’ve got a staging server on typedesign.de. You can see the bug there when using an iPad in portrait orientation, I’ve tried a few different devices. Just checked again with Dude’s code = no luck.
Thanks for your help!
Uhm… you installed a “demo copy”? Since when is there a “demo copy” of Enfold?
May 30, 2013 at 7:44 pm in reply to: Contact form as part of a text block… not possible with Enfold, but how? #121382For what it’s worth, I now found a tutorial to do a mad lib form using “Contact Form 7”, just like Ismael suggested. It’s even easier than Gravity Forms. Ok, there’s about a trillion more features in Gravity Forms, but then again, it’s not free.
If anyone cares: http://jesserfriedman.com/wordpress-mad-lib-contact-forms/
Hmm. It does work for me to just use the shortcode, which I generated beforehand on a blank page as suggested by formateins and then copy/pasted. The important thing is to choose “Div / Video” for your layer. It even says “This field is also shortcode-aware” on the tooltip:
However, neither this method nor the HTML method by Ismael solves one huge problem: buttons don’t like responsive, they don’t scale. They look horrible on mobile devices:
So I just created my buttons as .png images in PS (including button text) and used those. Not ideal, but… well.
Forgot to say that. The fix given by Dude doesn’t affect this issue. Still both normal and responsive menu when viewed in portrait orientation on iPad.
I’m having the same issue, or rather: issue c) “on Ipad views both Responsive and Normal menu appears”
This happens only when in portrait orientation on the iPad, not in landscape. And it doesn’t happen on your demo site… just on mine (and apparantly andypeck’s).
I was hoping this got fixed in v1.5, but it’s still there.

I’ve also found out that Gravity Forms is able to do these kinds of “Madlibs” form as they seem to be called:

Maybe this is of help to anyone looking for the same thing.

Will try it out.
May 11, 2013 at 8:44 pm in reply to: How can I disable just the breadcrumbs, not the entire header? #118509Thanks Peter!
Any plans to make this an option in the page layout settings? I already made a feature request for this.
Servus,
Andy
–– Feature Request: Disable breadcrumbs, not the entire header ––
Hi,
in the WP post/page editor, you can currently use the “Header Settings” under “Layout” to either enable or disable the header incl. the breadcrumbs.
Please add an option to “Display the Header, don’t display the Breadcrumb Navigation”.
Thanks,
Andy
================
I second the request from melonmelon:
More flexible Icon-Box – means:
1. allow the additional use of custom icons
2. more styling options (background, font size ect…)
