    Hi,

    I had seen these threads before asking my question, and the problem is that there is no solution in these threads for Excerpts inside a “Masonry”-element, except the hint of Ismael (#734529) to override Enfold core files, which means this change will last only till the next Enfold update.
    Do you have meanwhile some solution through the child theme?

    Hello,
    do I understand it correctly, that Enfold is not compatible with the plugin “Rich Text Excerpts”?
    I.e. Enfold deletes all HTML-tags that one adds with the help of this plugin.

    What would you suggest instead, in order to format post excerpts?
    I need post excerpts inside of one Masonry element.

    I also tried to add HTML manually into the field “Excerpt” (without any plugins), like

    <strong>Excerpt Title</strong>
    Excerpt body text, please visit <a href="test.com/testpage">test.com/testpage</a>

    but these manual HTML-tags were deleted by Enfold too.

    Thank you Victoria x

    Hello,

    as far as I see it is still not possible to give classes for menu items?
    Or one has to activate something to see the field for custom classes in menus?

    in reply to: Search bar in IE11 (Enfold) #889348

    Hello,

    I inserted 2 search bars at the top right at the same time according to this quide https://kriesi.at/support/topic/move-search-icon-to-secondary-menu-3/#post-736420:
    one through “Menu item” (the smaller one) and one through “Phone number” (the bigger one).

    As you can see in IE 11 the smaller one has the focus-problem, and the bigger one not.
    Therefore I would say it is a problem of WordPress menus in IE 11 or of Enfold Menus in IE 11.

    The Search bar through “Menu item” (which has the focus-problem) would be much more comfortable, because it lands automatically at the very end of the top menu.
    Now I had to insert jQuery for the Search bar through “Phone number” in order to push it to the very right. Which is visible during page loading as this bar is jumping, in desktop and in mobile modus, – not nice! See the link in the private content. Some ideas?

    Where can we buy the missing licence for this plugin, so that it would work fully to full extent, not only partly? Do you have some link for this Pro Version of the “LayerSlider WP” plugin?

    Thanks a lot for checking it. I will test the conflict with other plugins.

    I would still be interested to know, which input field of Enfold Theme Options regulates the color of the mobile/burger menu items.
    Because to write Quick CSS for this is only a compromise solution.
    I assume you have some documentation of Enfold, where you can check, which site areas are controlled by Enfold Theme Options input fields.

    Meanwhile I changed the color per my own CSS as I could not find where in Enfold Options it is set.

    I inserted the same search bar in the same way into the footer menu – and having there the same focus problem, too.

    There was a JS for tracking outbound links, which I removed now for testing purpose, but it didn’t change anything, too. There are no other JavaScripts from us added.

    Hello Mike,

    thanks a lot for your research and ideas.

    My Win 10 and IE11 receives the newest updates automatically and seems to be up-to-date.
    I tried this CSS:

    #header_meta .container {
         z-index: 150 !important;
         height:3px !important;
         min-height:3px !important;
    }
    #header_meta .sub_menu { z-index: 200 !important; }
    #menu-item-5571 { z-index: 201 !important; }
    #header_meta { height:3px !important; min-height:3px !important;  }

    so that the search bar would not be overlapped by other elements any more and had the highest z-index.
    Unfortunately it did not make any change for the bad focus.

    In case you have more solution suggestions they are always welcome, otherwise I think I will leave the site at the moment like it is.

    Hello Mike,

    thank you for checking.
    By the way, if you have Windows 10 with Edge, then you per default should have also IE 11 under the programms, a light blue icon.

    I now checked both under Edge and IE11 and here there are no JS Errors, only a Security Warning SEC7115 concerning color attributes in HTML, which in my opinion are irrelevant in this case.

    It seems to be a problem with the focus of cursor, why one has problems when trying to type something into the search bar at the top right of the header. How can this be solved?

    Hello Ismael,

    thank you for checking this. I fixed the JS error – it was only a Google Analytics script thing.

    I have this problem with the Search bar only in IE11 (unfortunately an important browser version which I cannot ignore).
    When you reload the page with Shift+F5 and try typing into the top Search bar, the typing gets possible only after you click into the Search bar 3-4 or more times.

    in reply to: Forbid access to all PDF uploads #867727

    Hello,

    thanks for the script, it worked (at least for the last 20 min by now) when I put only one of the lines ( RewriteRule \.(pdf|…..), not all 4 lines after the marker “# END WordPress”.

    But I am still searching for a solution through child’s functions.php, because it is not good to write something outside of markers in .htaccess.
    WP itself and other plugins which are constantly writing into .htaccess could get confused by freely flying lines outside of markers and damage the htaccess.

    in reply to: Forbid access to all PDF uploads #864144

    I will be back at the office in a week and will send you an admin access.

    Concerning solution through the .htaccess file the problem is that WordPress constantly resets the .htaccess file with its standard block of directives, so the changes you make in the .htaccess will go lost quite quickly (e.g. when you refresh permalinks) and the reset of a modified .htaccess can even crash all your .htaccess.

    In WordPress the best and cleanest solution for doing rewrites is to use functions.php and native WP functions like the add_rewrite_rule function.

    Mike, thanks a lot for the list!

    We had a similar problem and the reason were files (.JS, .PHP, .CSS ) in the Enfold Child theme as they were not updated. Deactivate the Child theme and check if the problem persists. If not, then the problem is in the Child theme.

    in reply to: gif with grey shadow, turns transparent during hover #845342

    It is because you inserted the left image in a different way than the middle image. On your left image I can see some “image caption overlay” – because of this you have this grey colour. Check if you have some remains of an image caption around the left image or in the settings of the left image.

    in reply to: Wrong amount of new plugin updates #782979

    Thanks for the link, I see in the given thread https://kriesi.at/support/topic/please-read-regarding-wordfence-layerslider-warning-on-enfold-4-0-3/
    several users have the same problem, e.g. the user “hugaud” March 29, 2017 at 9:20 am:
    “Updates indicator stays stuck on “1 update needed” but no updates available”
    and Layer Slider system status reports it needs an update.

    I know we can’t update Layer Slider separately from Enfold, but then the info of the Updates Indicator should be corrected by Enfold programmers too, so that it wouldn’t show available Layer Slider updates separately from Enfold updates.

    We use Layer Slider, so we can’t deactivate it.

    As far as I understand the Kriesi team is working on an Enfold update, that is going to solve this problem with Layer Slider updates and with the wrong Updates Indicator info?

    Thanks a lot, this helped.

    Hi, thanks for taking a look.

    Sorry, but I don’t understand how you come to the result “there were no visible changes”?

    If you deactivate in Firebug my correcting CSS (for H2, see the pic in my private comment of une 28, 2016 at 2:19 pm) you can immediately see changes on H2 – it becomes wrong, with text-transform:UPPERCASE and with wrong size 28px.
    But as fast as I add the class=”all_colors” to div id=”main”, then the H2 becomes like it is set under “Enfold Child Theme Options->Advanced Styling” and is supposed to be: text-transform:none and correct size 27px.

    You can also take H5 as an easier example, which is supposed to be grey #575757 according to “Enfold Child Theme Options->Advanced Styling”, but is not like that at all, because class=”all_colors” in <div id=”main” … > or in other parent elements is missing. Here is a page with H5:

    Hello Andy, here are the infos for the 2nd site, the problematic one:
