    Suddenly my editor isn’t working. The edit screen has the loading wheel going round and round and round like its trying to load but can’t. The site is working well but I need to make some updates.

    I have other WP sites on the same host which are working
    I’ve disabled all plugins and cleared my browser cache, but it’s still stuck.

    I wonder if its because the Theme is old? It says

    Theme Updates
    No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (3.5.4)

    …but it won’t update even manually.

    I’ve asked my host but they can’t help. Since it won’t update from the WP do I need to use ftp or something? This is just a guess, because I didn’t really do much other than update a few plugins. Could this be the reason?

    Hey cactusjoose,

    That is an old version, yes. Automatic updates are not compatible with all server environments unfortunately. Could you try updating manually via FTP please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update

    I left updating the site so have been caught out using an old version of Enfold. I can still update the bits I need to update regularly using plugins. In anycase, I really need some help now.

    I tried updating manually twice, but now I can’t even get into my wordpress editor at all. I have been conversing with support at my server (Siteground). They say its a Theme issue.

    Can you help please? I’ve attached details for my site below. Currently the site doesn’t work at all and it’s crucial to my business at this time of year.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the problem. Could you try to completely delete the theme folder via FTP, then try to upload it again to see if that helps please?

    I did notice something called new-site or something with another copy of the Enfold folder. I didn’t go there. Could that have something to do with it?

    Presumably you looked at my actual page?

    Does the message tell us anything?

    Hi,

    Thanks for the update. I had a look in your FTP folder and I can only see one installation of Enfold, which is 4.5.1, the site is up and I’m not seeing any error messages. I’m assuming you got everything working?
