    Hi, Unfortunately our website has not been updated recently. We have done the latest wordpress update and I now need to update our Enfold theme from 3.6.1 to 4.4. I am worried since there have been so many updates in between. Is there anything I can or should do to prepare before I hot the button?

    Hi,

    Have you made any changes on theme files such as functions.php, header.php etc.? If not, you can simply go to /wp-content/themes/ and delete “enfold” folder and re-install it via FTP – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#ftp-install to make sure all files are overwritten.
    We made major changes in structure therefore merging folders would cause an issue, they need to be replaced.

    ok, excuse my ignorance but will all of my content and information remain when i delete “enfold” folder and re-install? I am new to this and don’t want to mess it up.

    Hey!

    Yes, they are saved on your database and deleting the theme will not affect them.
    If you made modifications on theme files, they will be overwritten.

    If you would not like to update the theme via FTP, you can go to Appearance > Themes, switch to another theme, delete Enfold and re-install version 4.4 :)

    Last question as I did this mistake before I think. When I re-install if I import all of the demo import pages, will I lose my pages that I have created?

    Hey,

    No, you will not lose those, but they will be imported on top of your existing content. What are the changes you would like to make? We might be able to offer a workaround :)

    I don’t have any specific changes that we want to make I just want to keep the theme up to date now with the same content we have now. I have seen the newer enfold demo import pages on another site and they are really nice. I am just worried I will lose everything if I delete and re-install with the demo import. Do you offer a paid service to change the theme? I don’t know enough about the file manager etc to be confident. I am not sure what you mean they will be imported on top of my existing content.

    Hey,

    FTP logins are still not working for me :/
    I tried installing the theme manually but it fails. So it would be great if we could login to your server.

    Edit: I was able to install the theme after de-activating all active plugins. Please review your website :)
