Hi guys,
I can’t quite figure out how to have the image I’m using as the featured image (preview pic) to be full size – if I choose “Single Author – Big Preview Pic” it crops it on the top and bottom and looks awkward. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do – thank you:

June 1, 2018 at 8:34 am #965110Hey Linseed_Studio,
Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.4) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update

RikardJune 13, 2018 at 4:58 am #972030I have the same need I believe, to have the featured image always display in its entirety … regardless of the size chosen (other than thumbnail of course), shape, or display area (blog roll, single post page, or masonry grid)
I have 4.4 installed and have found no setting to provide this. I feel it is essential for most visual/graphic artist’s blog.
Any code you can offer for my child theme? Thanx.

Could you post a link to the page in question so that we can take a closer look please?

RikardJune 14, 2018 at 6:21 pm #972954Looks like the masonry grid magically righted itself to show only the featured image and in it’s entirety … very good … maybe a cache issue.
But I would still like the blog roll and single post to show:
1) the entire, uncropped featured image
2) that image at its original size, not expanded to fit the width … but shrunk if widerThanx for any code you can provide … here is a link to a single page (private) …
I would also like the blog roll to show only excerpts, but I believe I need to create a blog page layout for that, correct? So, the image concerns above will need to work with that.
June 16, 2018 at 5:45 pm #973660Hi ZacharyKnight,
Here is a thread for you to consider
https://kriesi.at/support/topic/full-list-of-image-dimensions-for-enfold/#post-373563You need to change the sizes that you need and regenerate thumbnails.
If you need further assistance please let us know.

VictoriaJune 19, 2018 at 4:23 am #974618Thank you Victoria … that function set is good to know. I really don’t want to adjust any image sizes, though. I want the full size image used. I’d like to know how to target that single post featured image area so I can give it a “width:auto” and “height:auto” contained by a “max-width” (or something of that nature) … is that possible?
Or any other method of removing the vertical cropping would be great.
June 19, 2018 at 12:29 pm #974743Hi ZacharyKnight,
Are your images of the same height and width? Or are they all different? Maybe it is easier to add some slider in your blog post with just one image and hide the featured image?

VictoriaJune 19, 2018 at 10:46 pm #975028Hi Rikard,
Sorry it took so long for me to respond – I made the update but it does not seem to have resolved the issue.
June 20, 2018 at 11:44 am #975222Hi Linseed_Studio,
Could you please attach some screenshots of the issue?

VictoriaJune 24, 2018 at 5:41 pm #977169Hi Victoria,
Here is a link that should better illustrate what I mean. The original image of satellite icon featured is a full circle and you can see it’s trimmed on the top and bottom. I can show you screenshots but I don’t know to attach them.
June 26, 2018 at 2:14 am #977738Victoria,
My images are all different sizes and ratios.
Here’s what’s puzzling me … WordPress is fundamentally a blog and the most basic display of a blog post is a complete image on top followed by the post copy. The WP core themes (TwentyThirteen, TwentySeventeen, etc.) can all easily display this styling. I’m not understanding why there are hundreds of wonderful settings for every other aspect of Enfold but I’m struggling with this. Please forward this simple request to development … I would greatly appreciate it, as would many others I’m sure who did not bother to ask.
I realize the page maker is available to customize a single page and I was able to create a custom post template using the drag-n-drop tools which gives me the full image I am looking for, plus post copy, comments, and sharing … but nothing else … no categories, title, or other meta that complete the post. Maybe there is a way to add these so I can achieve the goal in its entirety?
I’ve privately added a link to a draft page that would be perfect if it had two things … 1) the title and categories … 2) a max height and max width for the image
Any way I can make that happen? It seems like it would work for Linseed as well.
June 26, 2018 at 3:09 am #977747Hi,
Thanks for the update.
The single post page uses a specific thumbnail called “entry_with_sidebar” (845x321px) for pages with sidebar and the “entry_without_sidebar” thumbnail (1210x423px) for full width pages. The crop parameter of these thumbnails is enabled by default so the theme will crop or cut the images to get the specified width and height. You can prevent the theme from cropping the images by installing the following plugin and setting the “crop” parameter to false in the Settings > Media panel.
// https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
