    Dear all,
these days I’ve tried to update your theme Enfold on various websites. Unfortunately this causes the following fatal error (by the way, the websites crashed):

Cannot redeclare av_countdown_events_fallback() (previously declared in /www/htdocs/w00f638d/PhysioLengenfelder/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown/events_countdown.php:16) in /www/htdocs/w00f638d/PhysioLengenfelder/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-templatebuilder/avia-shortcodes/events_countdown.php on line 12

I had to use the previous version then. Have you ever heard about similar issues?

    Best regards,
    Petra

    Hey Petra,

Yes, that happens when folders are merged instead of being replaced. Please go to /wp-content/themes/ folder and delete “enfold” folder and re-install it via FTP – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/

    Best regards,

    Hey Yigit,

    thank you for your reply!
I’ve always updated Enfold via FTP overwriting the files but never had problems like this.
Starting from now, I will delete the Enfold folder first … but better at midnight because this practice will cause a completely breakdown of the website for a while. ;)

    Best regards,
    Petra

PS: You should better remove the demo files then and only offer them as an option. It takes a long time to update all files and not everybody needs those presettings.

    Hi,

There has been major changes in Enfold 4.3 that is why merging folders causing this issue. But that should not be the case for future releases :)

Thanks for your suggestion! It is already in our to-do list :)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hey Petra_MUC,

Please, update Enfold via FTP, in this versions, some files have moved around and so they need to be deleted. Delete the Enfold folder and upload a fresh copy of the theme.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria
