Hello,
I seem to be struggling to add in a Google Map for one of my clients. I have used Enfold numerous times in the past and managed to add in a Google Map without any trouble.
I’ve generated 4 separate API keys, with no restriction and none of them worked. A message pops up saying: “Could not connect to Google Maps with this API Key.” Along with a few suggestions, which I have tried. The websites using the latest version of WP and Enfold.
Please could you advise on what I could possibly try to get this working? I can provide login details if needed.
Thank you,
BenMay 12, 2018 at 1:11 pm #955730Hey limelightcom,
Thank you for contacting us, I understand you have used Enfold and set up maps several times. Just in case if you missed out on any steps, have you checked our guide to creating and setting up the API key?
We need to have a look at your site or the error message that shows in console to assist you better. Would you mind sharing a precise link to the page, showing the elements in question?
Best regards,

Yes I followed the guide. Not too sure what else to try. URL and login to the website are in private content.
I get the error whenever I paste in an API key into the Google Services tab and click ‘Check API Key’.Thanks
May 15, 2018 at 3:37 pm #957045Hi,
Where did you add the map API key? The google maps api key field in the Enfold > Google Services panel is empty. Please post the project API key in the private field. We would like to test it.

BasilisMay 17, 2018 at 10:46 am #958084Hello,
Yes I’ve tried there. Once I click “Check API Key”, the message below appears.
“Could not connect to Google Maps with this API Key.
Troubleshooting:
1. Check if you typed the key correctly.
2. If you use the restriction setting on Google try to remove that, wait a few minutes for google to apply your changes and then check again if the key works here. If it does, you probably have a syntax error in your referrer url
3. If none of this helps: deactivate all plugins and then check if the API works by using the button above. If thats the case then one of your plugins is interfering.”1. I copy and paste the API Key in.
2. There are no restrictions set on the API Key.
3. I tried deactivating all plugins and tested again. Thanks
May 18, 2018 at 12:22 pm #958575I have exactly the same problem. Maybe something to do with API restrictions?

@katielherpiniere
Please try to create a new API with no restrictions, and ensure you have set up your Google billing info.
I tested with yours, which gave the error, but my API worked fine:

Have you enabled Maps JavaScript API and Geocoding API? make sure these are enabled since it’s need for the map to work properly.

VictoriaJanuary 22, 2020 at 2:31 pm #1177193I know this is an old thread but just wanted to point out that you also need to make sure that billing is enabled for the project in the google console. If not, the API key will not check correctly.

VictoriaJanuary 23, 2020 at 12:31 pm #1177575Hello,
We have problem with Google API on multiple sites. The API works fine on other sites. Do the site has to be public for the Google Maps API to work?
January 23, 2020 at 9:10 pm #1177871Hi Vikab,
Are you using individual keys? Do you have billing enabled?
Best regards,
VictoriaJanuary 24, 2020 at 11:40 am #1178080Hello,
