Greetings Team,

Have just updated Enfold Child to the latest version 4.3.1. Unfortunately, that has disabled some CSS features in my portfolio: the arrows to enable navigating from one image to another using the symbols (<and>) as well as the X to exit. Also, the WP Content Copy Protection plugin stopped working. Please see the private content section to see examples of the old behaviour and the new one.

Update: Have now rolled back and installed Enfold 4.2.3 which restored all broken functionality. Here is some of the CSS code:

Hello Victoria,

Thanks for following up.

Have now updated Enfold theme into 4.3.1 and you can see the issue in the links below:
no arrow to navigate, no X to exit, black background and no image protection (WP Content Copy Protection plugin stopped working).

Hi,

Thanks for the update. The login credentials are invalid though. Please check it carefully. Did you update the theme via FTP? Please check if the shortcodes files inside the config-templatebuilder > aviashortcodes folder are duplicated.

Hi,

The child theme had the old version of the header.php file. We updated it. The lightbox script should work properly now.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Have used the automatic WP update to version 4.3.2 and the website returned to to the same broken state as before. Below please find the log showing successful update.

Please help me understand which files in Child Enfold need to be updated manually so I can update properly without overwriting custom styling in CSS.

The two versions look exactly the same on my end. It could have been a cache issue. Please check again.

If the issue is still there, please attach some screenshots of the issue.

Hi Victoria,

Yes, the gallery looks the same on both versions. When clicking to select an image it should be displayed on full screen.

Hi,

I’m sorry but we can’t tell which files to update because there are so many and we can’t trace it back manually. We do recommend a full update. Please put the modifications on the child theme and refrain from modifying the parent theme files.

Hi Ismael,

Thanks for following up. Have downloaded the latest version of Enfold from https://themeforest.net/downloads and used FTP to manually update wp-content/themes/enfold without any update to the enfold-child directory
Unfortunately after manually updating the theme, some lightbox functionality is broken: the images do not have navigation arrows and the exit/close X is missing. Also the WP Content Copy Protection plugin stops functioning.

Is there an enfold-child file that needs to be updated together with the new version of enfold? The file style.css contains modifications which I need to retain.

Hi,

Thanks for the update. You can move the code from the parent theme’s style.css to the child theme’s style.css file or the theme’s Quick CSS field. After the update, please toggle any theme options and resave it. This will regenerate the script and stylesheets. You may also need to purge the cache or re-minify the js and css.
