    Ahoy,

I just set up a child theme via this thread https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/using-a-child-theme/ When I click Import Parent Theme Settings it loads and says complete but the settings do not transfer over.

I see other people are having this same problem https://kriesi.at/support/topic/import-parent-theme-on-child-theme/?login_error

I had to set my theme back to the non parent theme for the time being

    Please Advise

    Hey mcraig77,

Please post us your login credentials (in the “private data” field), so we can take a look at your backend.

    1. Install and activate ” Temporary Login Without Password “.
    2. Go to ” Users > Temporary Logins ” on the left-side menu.
    3. Click ” Create New “.
    4. Add the email address for the account ( you can use (Email address hidden if logged out) ), as well as the ” Role ” making that the highest possible and the expiry about four days
( do be sure that we have enough time to debug ).
    5. Click ” Submit “.
    6. You’ll now have a temporary account. Please provide us here in the private section the URL, so we can login and help you out.

When your issue is fixed, you can always remove the plugin!
If you prefer to not use the plugin, you can manually create a admin user and post the login credentials in the “private data” field.

    Best regards,
    Basilis

    Hi,

Thanks for that, sometimes you have to only toggle a setting in the theme options and save again and the settings apply after that. That was the case here and I’ve done it for you. Your parent theme settings are imported and the child theme is active. Please review your site.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

Thanks @rikard I was wondering what was up with that. I have another one of my sites doing this as well. Can you advise on what you toggled so I can install the child on that other site? Can it be any setting?

    Hi,

Yes, it can be any theme setting basically. Just toggle a setting or two and save, that rewrites all your settings and the imported ones are included then as well.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
