Tagged: 500 internal server error, enfold theme
I just purchased the Enfold theme and built out a few pages on the backend very easily (great backend by the way). However, when I look at the live site, I get a 500 internal server error, “The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.”
I have activated other themes, and my site works fine. Not sure what could be causing this error. Please help, as I really like the Enfold theme, but it is not rendering when I activate it.
Thanks for your help!
Kim
Hi kimbyjo!
Please change the name of Plugins folder inside wp-content folder via FTP and check if that helps.
Regards,
Yigit
Thanks, Yigit! I renamed my the Plugins folder inside of wp-content to “Pluginsold”, but am still getting the same error when I activate the theme. Is there anything else I could try?
Thanks for your help!
Kim
Check and see if there is an .htaccess file in that directory. If there is check Cpanel to see if the directory is password protected. Remove the password protection.
Hi Yigit,
I think the fact that I used the upload manager in WordPress when I first installed the theme is what has caused the problem. That’s when the error first appeared. That may be the issue. However, I don’t know how to resolve it.
Thanks again!
Kim
Hey!
Please try to increase the allocated memory to 128M – http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP
