    Hi folks.
I’m Blake, the developer working with Mr. D’Angelo to update his site, with his permission.
Client had site built 6-7 years ago; system has not been updated in that time.

From what I understand, the developer set all things up, didn’t tell client he needed license etc. etc..
Client has now purchased it and will have going forward.

Main issue is that the install currently – ver 3.3, with Woo ver 2.16.2 – isn’t allowing any display changes, and text in WooCommerce isn’t appearing.
I’m certain sure that updating the theme correctly will allow for all things to work correctly, I’m unsure how to do that safely, to ensure all client data is kept and not lost or removed on update.

Whats my best approach here – give access to Support here, and let you have at it?
or is there a Guide etc for this type of older work?
    Any help would be great~

    Thanks in advance ~
    Blake.

    Hey Blake,

I would suggest that you copy the whole site to a local or staging site, then update there first of all to see if you run into any problems.

The update to 5.6.2 has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard
