Hi,
I have followed the documentation step 1 to 4 for “Install a child theme from your WordPress dashboard” on https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/child-theme/
In step 4 I have also done everything in step 1-4 including clearing cache, imported the fallback file, JS & CSS file merging and compression is turned off.
But the website does not look quite as in the parent theme (e.g. colors and font). What should I do?
Best regards,
Birgitte
I even had the hosting supplier to empty the server cache, but still the child theme website does not look like the parent theme.
Hi BirgitteAlstrom,
Thanks for giving us admin access.
It should look the same as the parent theme now, please review your site.
Best regards,
Nikko
Hi Nikko,
Thank you for your quick response.
And whatever you did – it was magic :-) Thank you so much. It is really appreciated.
Should the “Enfold Theme Options > Performance > JS & CSS file merging and compression” be turned on again after the installation of the child theme, or should I leave it turned off?
Best regards,
Birgitte
Hi Birgitte,
You’re welcome :) You can turn on the JS & CSS file merging and compression.
The magic was just changing the layout from stretched to boxed then set it back to stretched layout :D
Best regards,
Nikko
Hi Nikko,
Thank you so much for your help and quick response.
I have now moved my custom CSS from Enfold Child > General Styling > Quick CSS
to Appearance > Editor > Enfold Child Style.css
And it works smoothly.
Again … thank you very much. You can now close this thread.
Best regards,
Birgitte
