I have a site that is using Theme Version Number is 3.3.2
The person maintaining it earlier is no more with the company
Can I update the theme buy buying a new license and replacing the theme directory? Will it break the site: http://enfoldindia.org

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If you are worried about breaking your site, then please try uploading the new theme files in a temporary folder via FTP first. After upload you can rename the old folder to enfold_old for example, and the new folder to only enfold.
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
