Hi there,
I recently bought the theme. However after installation of the theme, it shows “There has been a critical error on this website.”. I can access the dashboard but not the pages. I tried to debug the error, but the errors are not displayed even after checking. Please help…regards and God bless
Fr. ChristySeptember 13, 2021 at 5:58 am #1320627Hi Christy,
I tried editing one of your pages, and I’m seeing 503 errors on a few resources, like the one in private. Could you share server log files with us? Also please try reaching out to your hosting provider, to see if they know why the server is responding with that error message.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 13, 2021 at 6:32 am #1320629Hi Rickard the private link when accessed by me shows 0. Also I tried changing the theme of the site and the site works fine with a different theme.

September 14, 2021 at 4:52 am #1320819Hi,
Thanks for that. I can’t really see anything interesting in the log file though, but the theme doesn’t cause 503 errors by default, so the problem is likely local to your site or server environment. Did you try reaching out to your hosting provider? If not, then please try doing so, or try following this: https://www.ionos.com/digitalguide/hosting/technical-matters/http-503-how-to-fix-website-errors/

RikardSeptember 14, 2021 at 5:26 am #1320827Hi Rikard,
When i change the theme to the default, it works fine. It is only when I use the enfold theme that the site doesn’t work. Also the plugin is working fine… showing the maintenance mode… So the plugins and other themes work fine on the hosting. I also spoke with the providers. They said everything else is working. If you switch themes to the default, it is working fine. They added https://verapoly.in/index.html1 to check it too.. I also tried disabling all the plugins, thinking that it was a compatibility issue. That also did not help.Regards
Fr. ChristySeptember 14, 2021 at 5:29 am #1320828https://verapoly.in/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php is not returning 503 error.. It is returning 0
September 14, 2021 at 5:31 am #1320829These are the errors in the error log
September 14, 2021 at 5:34 am #1320830This was the reply from the hosting providers:
The site which is working on the test script which I have uploaded, on the hosting files.
if there is an issue with hosting the test script wont work. The issue is with the content files on it.
September 15, 2021 at 4:45 am #1320971Hi,
Thanks for the update. If this was a general theme problem, then all sites running Enfold would have the same problem. That is not the case, so that means something is going wrong locally with either the content on your site, or on the server. I can’t login into your site any more to check anything though, since it’s only displaying an error message. Navigating to the admin-ajax.php file doesn’t do or prove anything, since it’s not a file which is supposed to be used for the front end.
What exactly did you hosting provider add in the test script?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 15, 2021 at 4:50 am #1320972Let me change the theme…. and then you can access (verapoly.in/wp-admin)… Can I get a site that is running enfold?
September 15, 2021 at 4:53 am #1320973Please try again…
September 15, 2021 at 4:55 am #1320975Using the theme is also spiking my I/O usage….
September 16, 2021 at 4:18 am #1321120Hi,
Thanks for the update. Are we allowed to deactivate plugins, and activate Enfold for debugging purposes? Also, where are you seeing a spike in I/O usage? Please provide us with more information on that. If you could share FTP login details, then that might be useful for us a well.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 16, 2021 at 4:35 am #1321125Yes you can debug the plugins……. I saw the spike in the cpanel when the theme was used. I will have to ask the other admin for FTP details.
September 17, 2021 at 4:54 am #1321301Hi,
Thanks for the update. I tried deactivating all plugins, then I activated Enfold. The front end is still displaying a WordPress error message though, and I’m seeing several server errors when trying to edit a page, please see private. Could you try reaching out to your hosting provider again, to check if they can tell you why the server is responding with those errors please? Also please ask them to clarify exactly what they are testing with the script they added. If you could share FTP login details in private as well, then we could try uploading a fresh copy of the theme for you.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 17, 2021 at 6:00 am #1321312The hosting providers are saying the same thing again and again. I have added the FTP Details for you to check…
September 19, 2021 at 5:05 am #1321483Hi,
Thanks for that. I uploaded a fresh copy of the theme and activated it, and all the problems seems to disappear after that. Could you check and verify on your end too please?
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 21, 2021 at 3:16 pm #1321787Hi Rikard,
I was able to view the site. HOwever I wasnot able to import the demo files (Consulting Demo). It shows download of files didnt work. Could you pleas check into it.September 21, 2021 at 3:59 pm #1321795Now the site has crashed again
September 23, 2021 at 12:07 pm #1321999Hi,
Thanks for the update. Your site seems to be working fine on my end, the demo import is not working though. I’m seeing that the server is returning a 500 internal server error. Please try following this for suggestions on how to rectify the problem: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/import-demos/#demo-import-dont-work-or-demo-data-install-error. If that doesn’t help, then please try reaching out to your hosting provider again, to see if they know why the server responds with a 500 internal server error when trying to import a demo.
Best regards,
RikardSeptember 26, 2021 at 8:25 pm #1322370Hi Rikard,
The solution did not help. Also the PHP memory limit was increaed to 512 MB. STill there was no useSeptember 26, 2021 at 9:01 pm #1322376As of now there is no issue from the hosting end and the error which you see is within the theme builder.
Once check the required PHP settings for your theme and suggest you to create a sub domain name and install the premium theme and share it with your theme provider so that they can troubleshoot.
This was their response
