I created this site a while back, before a number of updates. The widgets areas are now completely different. Using the new block system, I’ve created a Sidebar Pages widget but am experiencing a number of issues:

    1) The sidebar content appears at the bottom of the page, below the last content item.
    2) There is a duplicate menu that appears in the sidebar. The first one is from a previous version prior to the update but I have no idea where it is located because the widget area is dramatically different. The second one is what I’ve added.
    3) I can’t adjust the huge spacing below “We’re Here for You” and the Contact info.

This client is responding to an RFP and needs her site to be pristine by end of next week. Please help!!

    Hey phausner,

The sidebar will display there, since you are using a full width element just before it. It has always worked like this, so it’s not due to any updates. If you want to continue using a full width element at the bottom, then you can try to fake a sidebar using a 1/4 column with a Widget element inside of it. If not, then please replace the full width element with a 1/1 element for example.

    Best regards,

Thank you for explaining that the full width element doesn’t work with the sidebars. I’ve removed the full width element and all is well.

    1) However, I still don’t understand what’s going on with the Sidebar Pages widget. There is a menu that appears in the sidebars of the pages specified in my initial request for support, and I don’t know where it is located nor how to edit it. When I look at the widget area (where it used to be before the updates), there is nothing there. I created a menu and added it along with the contact info, but now duplicate menus are appearing. I know I remove the widget menu I just created but the point is that I need to be able to EDIT the menu that appears and I don’t know where that first one is coming from nor how to find it to edit it.

    2) Also, using the new widget block editing, I don’t have the same control over padding. The gap is too large under “We’re Here for You” and I can’t figure out how to reduce it.

    3) One other thing, is there no longer the capability to create a custom widget?

I appreciate your patience and support. Please help.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I see the duplicate menu too, but I’m not sure why that is happening. Could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.8.6.1) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

Thank you, Rikard. I have tried updating the theme but am unsuccessful. The Theme Options show I am running the latest version 4.7.6.4. I have gone to Themeforest to download the latest file and uploaded that enfold.zip file to the server via the File Manager. There is no change. The Theme Options and Appearance > Themes still show 4.7.6.4.

Where can I get the latest version, if not from Themeforest? Why does my Theme Options panel not detect that I need a theme update?

Thank you for your help. Hopefully we can resolve this soon as my client nears her RFP deadline.

    Hi,

Please try to install and configure this plugin: https://envato.com/market-plugin/. If that doesn’t help, then try disabling your security plugin temporarily, as it might be blocking the traffic to/from Themeforest. The theme files on Themeforest are always the latest version. Uploading a zip file to your server won’t install the theme, it needs to be unzipped.

    Rikard

Wow, thanks for letting me know about the Envato Market Plugin. That’s a great tool.

The theme is updated now but the mysterious sidebar menu is still showing at the top of the sidebar. Do you have any other suggestions? Obviously, I need to know where that menu resides so it can be edited.

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. The extra menu is controlled by the Page Sidebar navigation option under Enfold->Sidebar Settings. I’ve turned that off for you, and the list of pages are gone now. Please review your site.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
