    Hi,

First, I am not a programmer although I do have a programmer who works with me and he suggested we contact you. Second, I did not design the website so I am inheriting what is there.

The problem is that the Masonry Galleries are not showing up on my client’s website. We have tried so many things, Googled solutions, deactivated and activated light boxes, deactivated plugins and reactivated them, tried some coding with style, all to write that nothing works.

The site is built with the Enfold child theme (probably not writing that correctly) and I have not updated the theme nor WordPress in some time. In fact, some other sites I work on, when I have updated WP, I am experiencing issues of other sorts so I, myself, do not want to update WP and have even more issues with this site than the masonry galleries are not showing up.

I do want to add that I tried to create a new masonry gallery and it does not show up. I did create a Gallery and the images do show as well as I created a horizontal gallery and it shows up.

Can you please help me with this? I need an email address to set up a login for you.

    Many thanks!

    Hey magdevmdg,

I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.8.2) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

    Best regards,

    Rikard,

The developer that created the website used the Enfold Child theme. When I look at the themes, I see Enfold but it is not activated. The child theme has no option to update.

Can you advise as to how I would update and which?

I want to add that the website was working fine last month. The masonry gallery was showing up. I did not update anything but plugins.

    Many thanks.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

The child theme relies on the parent theme and is currently on version 4.5.6, which is quite old. You have to upgrade the theme to version 4.8.2 manually via FTP just this once, because the auto updater will not work with your current version.

So I updated and the site blew up.

Is there something I can follow that shows how to update Enfold and then the Child?

There are other things not showing up now like the map.

This is happening on another one of my clients’ site. They do not have Enfold child so I will try to update their Enfold theme to the new version.

Any help you can give would be great. Things are just disappearing and I do not want to have to recreate the whole site again.

    Hi,

The theme is still outdated. Please check the documentation that we provided above so that you can properly update the theme. You should delete the old version after uploading the latest one. We will add the link again below.

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-update/#update-via-ftp

There are other things not showing up now like the map.

This should get fixed once you updated the theme. You may also need to toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings after upgrading the theme.

IMPORTANT: Please do not forget to create a site backup or a restore point before doing the update.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
