and other elements the blog post is not using?
Hi guys,
This site only uses Classic editor. I am using Load only Used Elements (recommended) as usual but I can see when I disable compression that many elements not used are being loaded. Including the block editor when I test the Mobile version of the page with PageSpeedInsights.
My desktop Core Web Vitals are a dream come true. The mobile ones with no sidebars, got worse.
Help!!
Thank you!
Havi

Thank you for the inquiry.
Did you set the Enfold > Performance > Disabling of template builder elements settings to the second option (Load only used elements)? This should filter out unused scripts and stylesheets and prevent them from loading. However, please note that this option will only work if the Performance > File Compression settings are disabled.

IsmaelApril 26, 2021 at 7:05 pm #1296814Hi Ismael!
How are you? Yes. Load Only Used Elements is always selected on both mentioned scenarios:
a- without file compression enabled (that’s how I can see the list of the elements loaded)
b- with compression enabled (that’s how you can see the Block Editor is being loaded and the merged avia file is way to big)
I have cleared the server’s cache from Kinsta before compressing, and after compressing. I set it up and maintain it, why is this happening and any ideas, suggestions? Why does this only happen on the mobile/responsive version and not on the desktop version?
Thank you!
Havi
April 27, 2021 at 6:10 am #1296898Hi,
Doing fine. Thanks for asking. How are you? :)
a – This means that the option (Load only used elements) is not working as it should. Did you use a cache plugin and enable the minification settings in there?
b – That is quite expected. As we mentioned above, the option (Load only used elements) will NOT work when the file compression settings are enabled, so for it work, files should be loaded separately.
Please post the login details in the private field so that we could check the issue further.

IsmaelApril 28, 2021 at 9:38 pm #1297226Hi Ismael,
Doing fine. Buried in work. but keep moving forward… :)
A- no cache plugins
B- I don’t see the block editor being loaded on any of my other client sites (some hosted on Kinsta and some on LiquidWeb)
I think you are right on the money when saying something is not quite working as it should.
Sending you the login details.
Thank you so much!

April 30, 2021 at 5:39 am #1297459Hi,
Hang in there! :)
We have temporarily disabled the Performance > File Compression settings because the option (Load only used elements) will only work if compression is disabled, as we have mentioned above.
We created a page containing a single text block to test it and it seems to be working as expected. Not all resources or scripts are loaded in the page — only those that are required.
Screenshot: https://imgur.com/K7lNfrU
Because there is no Icon Grid element in the page, the icongrid.js and icongrid.css file are not loaded. This is true for every other elements except for scripts and stylesheets that the theme requires out of the box, e.g. slideshow, video, tabs, toggle etc.

IsmaelMay 12, 2021 at 5:52 pm #1299978Hi Ismael,
I didn’t get an email about your reply.
The screenshot shows completely black. Nothing can be seen. Also, I just checked the website and the performance is so bad, I had to place a ticket with Kinsta.
What settings have you changed besides disabling the SSL default check?
This is a LIVE site. Performance went down the drain. How do I remove the Block Editor from Loading?
Thanks.

May 14, 2021 at 9:04 am #1300275Hi,
Thank you for following up.
The screenshot shows up fine on our end. Please check it again. You may need to optimize the site further to improve its performance and overall loading speed. The following articles should help.

IsmaelMay 14, 2021 at 4:08 pm #1300353Hi Ismael,
This is what I see for some reason: https://ibb.co/F3Zhy2P
All I want is to stop the Block Editor from loading as I am only using the Classic Editor. This is the only site that I run that has this issue. All my clients have Enfold. Why is this happening here?
How do I stop it from loading?
Thanks,
Havi
PS: Those articles are appreciated but not the issue here. I reached out to Kinsta and the server was experiencing issues and hitting PHP limits (they probably restarted PHP) and I blocked a few IPs that were hitting hard and it immediately improved.
May 17, 2021 at 1:47 pm #1300739Hi,
Thank you for the clarification.
All I want is to stop the Block Editor from loading as I am only using the Classic Editor.
To remove the block library css, try to add this snippet in the functions.php file.
//Remove Gutenberg Block Library CSS from loading on the frontend function smartwp_remove_wp_block_library_css(){ wp_dequeue_style( 'wp-block-library' ); wp_dequeue_style( 'wp-block-library-theme' ); wp_dequeue_style( 'wc-block-style' ); // Remove WooCommerce block CSS } add_action( 'wp_enqueue_scripts', 'smartwp_remove_wp_block_library_css', 100 );
Glad to know that the site performance improved after blocking IPs.
Best regards,
Ismael -
