RikardMarch 15, 2021 at 4:38 pm #1288343Hi Rikard,
I explained the problem already exactly in my text. What else do you want to know?
I sent you some more examples. Maybe then you understand the problem.
You find the requested informations in the private content.

NicMarch 19, 2021 at 8:38 am #1289109Hi,
Thanks for that. The login details you posted are not working, please check and verify.
As for your problem; first off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.8.1) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 24, 2021 at 12:49 pm #1290087Hi Rikard,
I send you a new login in the private data.It definitely works (tryed it).
In my theme update stands:
“No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.6.1)”
But you wrote that the last version is 4.8.1. So there is obviously a technical probleme in the theme. Would you mind to check it?
And also the problems I described above?
Thank you in advance.Best regards,
NicMarch 29, 2021 at 12:29 am #1290987Hi,
Sorry for the very late reply and thanks for your patience. I couldn’t log in with the details provided, please see the screenshot in the Private Content area. But that is OK.
As I’m just now joining your topic I note that you are using Enfold v4.6.1 you will have to manually update with this version, there was an issue with this version and the New (at the time) Envato Token, once you manually update from that version which was suggested in 2019, you should have no further update issues.
The easiest and safest way to do this is to download the newest version from your Theme Forest and rename your current theme folder to “enfold-old” via ftp then upload the new “enfold” folder and check that your site is working correctly.
Should for some reason you wish to roll-back to the old version, it’s easy to do, simply rename the new “enfold” folder to “enfold-new” via ftp and then rename “enfold-old” to “enfold” then refresh your page.
Once you are happy you can delete the “enfold-old” folder via ftp, (not the WP theme page)
Please don’t try to overwrite the theme folder, as this will leave old files behind and cause errors.
So updating should be your first priority, please do this.Best regards,
MikeMarch 29, 2021 at 2:04 am #1290997Hi Mike,
NicMarch 29, 2021 at 11:14 am #1291065Hi,
Thank you for noticing that the password you posted was missing the last character, I was able to login.
So now please look at your theme panel update page, screenshot below.
Back in 2019, which is the release date of your version, Envato changed how they would handle licenses from the Themeforest API Key system to the Envato private token system, so everybody had to get an Envato private token please notice the big black warning box:Attention: The old Envato API is deprecated and will be shut down soon. In order to be able to use automated theme updates please generate a new valid API token and enter it above. Your themeforest username and your old API key will then be removed from your installation since they are no longer required.
So you will have go to your Theme Forest account (Envato) and set up a token, etc, for you to automatically update in the future.
But I will save you from a lot of frustration and tell you the with your specific version 4.6.1 there was an issue with the token/api & auto-updates, at the time (2019) the solution was to manually update, and this is what you need to do now.
I posted the best way to do this above, but if you don’t feel comfortable doing this, please include FTP access in the Private Content area and download the Enfold theme v4.8.1 from your Theme Forest account and link in the Private Content area via DropBox I will manually update for you, and then you can setup your Envato private token later.
Your child theme has no bearing on the process.
If you want me to manually update your site, please disable all of your plugins, I would recommend enabling maintenance mode and plan on your site being offline for a day or two, due to our different time zones.
Best regards,
MikeApril 1, 2021 at 12:56 pm #1291769Hi Mike,
thanks for the detailed information. And thank you very much for the offer to update my theme manually. I would like to accept that because I still missing the experience here. You find my qustions in the private content area …
April 1, 2021 at 1:34 pm #1291775I was able to update the password in the meantime and downloaded the new theme enfold.zip. Download link, see private data.
For my questions see my last email!April 1, 2021 at 1:59 pm #1291781Hi,
If you have lost your login info to your Theme Forest account you will need to ask them to recover. Envato, aka Theme Forest is the exclusive licensor of Enfold, due to this contract we can not license nor do we have access to licensing info. Typically similar situations to this arise when a developer purchases a license and creates a website product for a customer, and somehow doesn’t supply this license login to the customer, thus the customer is never given access to the licensed files. Envato doesn’t recognize the license code number without the login and password to the Envato account in order to download the licensed files or to update the theme. Typically years go by before the developer’s customer realizes that this has happened and the developer has stopped responding to the customer. Typically the developer only purchased one license but built many sites and can not update them all because they only have one license. Because of this Envato changed their API to a Token that can only be accessed via the account’s login and password. So now for the good news, in any situation where the user doesn’t have access to the old account, it is cheaper and easier for them to simply purchase a new Enfold theme with a new email and create a new login and account. The greatest benefit to this is the option to extend the support to 12 months for a very small price:
for you see the yearly cost of access to this support form is nearly the same as the cost of the theme:
which I assume you have not updated since 2019.
So it will save you time and money to just purchase a new license.Best regards,
MikeApril 1, 2021 at 8:35 pm #1291885I don’t understand the info. I have bought several Enfold themes for myself and customers and have paid for them over and over again. I have now found my password, as I had already written in the other message. Why should I buy a new theme? I downloaded the current theme and sent you a link.

NIcApril 2, 2021 at 11:22 am #1291991Hi,
Very good, I have found your updated theme files, please include FTP access in the Private Content area so that I may manually update your theme.Best regards,
MikeApril 6, 2021 at 1:13 pm #1292765I included the FTP access in the Private Content area.
Thank you in advance and good luck!April 7, 2021 at 1:52 pm #1293067Hi,
Thanks for the FTP access but I’m having trouble with the connection as it keeps dropping. Please try uploading your updated theme to a directory named enfold-new and once it is fully uploaded, rename your current enfold directory to enfold-old and then rename enfold-new to enfold and check your site.
If you run into any issues simply reverse the renaming. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this and you have a cPanel file manager within your webhosting account you could post a login for us to use below, but it doesn’t seem that your FTP access is stable enough for me to use from my location.Best regards,
MikeApril 7, 2021 at 6:37 pm #1293126Hi Mike,
I uploaded the current theme – as described – via FTP and it is also displayed in the theme options now “You are using the latest version! (4.8.1) “.
But the errors are still there. Could you help me now?
Best regards,
NicApril 13, 2021 at 5:25 am #1294022Hi,
Thank you for your patience.
The color of the masonry title and caption is set to white, which is the same as the background, so it is not visible. The parent container is also hidden with css. To change the text color and display the parent container back, we used this css in the Quick CSS field.
.main_color .container .av-inner-masonry-content, #top .main_color .container .av-masonry-load-more, #top .main_color .container .av-masonry-sort, .main_color .container .av-masonry-entry .avia-arrow { background-color: #ffffff; color: #000000 !important; } .responsive .av-masonry-entry .av-masonry-entry-title+.av-masonry-entry-content { display: block; }
Please toggle or temporarily disable the Enfold > Performance > File Compression settings and do a hard refresh before checking the page.

IsmaelApril 13, 2021 at 2:45 pm #1294133Hi Ismael,
thanks for the support. Unfortunately, I don’t know what to do next. The compression was already deactivated and the quick CSS was already inserted by you, but the font color was still turquoise and the copy disappeared, although the setting was “standard” and in spite of your Quick-CSS!
I don’t understand what has changed and why I still had to manually adjust the text color!
Request for information. Thank you in advance.

NicApril 14, 2021 at 11:01 am #1294338Hi,
Thank you for following up.
It is possible that you are viewing a cached version of the page because this is how the gallery looks on our end.
Screenshot: https://imgur.com/5tcvJyU
As you can see, the black image title or caption is already visible against a white background. Please make sure to purge the cache and do a hard refresh before checking the page again. Or try to check the page on incognito mode.

April 14, 2021 at 12:27 pm #1294364Please look in the private content. Thx.
April 16, 2021 at 6:46 am #1294700Hi,
Looks like the font color of the paragraph tag or element is set to white. To change it, try to add this css code.
.main_color p { color: #149e95; }
And if you want to adjust the color of the headline or in this case the strong tag, use this css code.
.main_color strong { color: red; }
You can also adjust the content color in the Enfold > General Styling > Main Content panel.
Best regards,
IsmaelApril 16, 2021 at 1:32 pm #1294795Thank you for the Quick CSS. It works for the colors.
But other Changes do not work on the site.
Many changes are not implemented. The site is definitely out of order. Please see the private content.Furthermore, I would like to know how I can now solve the “token problem”. I had an old key and something should be changed for future theme updates.
I ask for more information about this.Thank you in advance!
April 19, 2021 at 5:54 am #1295091Hi,
We have checked the Quick CSS field and looked for any invalid css code, but we did not find any. However, the child theme’s style.css file is empty. Did you edit that file? It should contain info about the child theme and it should point to the parent theme.
Please correct it by adding the following code, but before doing so, make sure that there is a site backup and a restore point.
Example:
/* Theme Name: Enfold Child Description: A <a href='http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes'>Child Theme</a> for the Enfold WordPress Theme. If you plan to do a lot of file modifications we recommend to use this Theme instead of the original Theme. Updating will be much easier then. Version: 1.0.1 Author: Kriesi Author URI: http://kriesi.at Template: enfold */ /*Add your own styles here:*/
If you have any additional questions at this time we kindly ask that you open them up in a separate thread. The longer threads get in the forum, they become more difficult to support as they tend to drift off topic and they also make it troublesome for users trying to search for solutions. Keeping threads relevant to their original inquiry ensures that we can keep better track of what has been resolved and that users can more effectively find answers to similar issues they might be experiencing.
Thank you for your patience.

IsmaelApril 19, 2021 at 9:52 am #1295191Hi Ismael,
I did’nt edit the child theme css! A lot seems to have gone wrong with the updates. I will try to change the child style.css file per FTP (or is there an easier way?).
You wrote “make sure that there is a restore point.” I can do a site backup (FTP and sql), but I don’t know how to set a restore point.Could you give me information about it?
And my question is still what is to be done with regard to the “token” etc.? You told me that I have to apply for something new. I ask for detailed information on what to do here. I had given the key and did everything according to the instructions (long time ago when I bought the theme …) and the technical problem came from Enfold, so I have to know what to do now so that there are no such problems with the theme update again soon.
And my problem also ist not solved! The color on the site that I mentioned in the private content had to changed manually! The css for the color of the copy and the headline didn’t work!
That means the problem is still there! Thanks in advance for the information.
Best regards,
NicApril 21, 2021 at 6:05 am #1295677Hi,
A site backup should be fine. Did you create a backup before? The previous backups might contain a working version of your site with the child theme still intact.
The styles are gone because the child theme’s style.css file is empty, so it is not pointing to the correct database entry, which contains the theme options and styles. Hopefully, adding the child theme code template that we suggested above will bring back the previous styles. Did someone else access the site and edit that file?
Please open another thread for the token inquiry. You can also learn more about it in the following documentation.
// https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
IsmaelJuly 26, 2021 at 2:56 pm #1312451I still do not know how to solve the problem. :-(
July 27, 2021 at 10:59 am #1312695Hi,
Thanks for the feedback I see that have not Entered a valid Envato private token and are still using the old Envato API, I’m sure you notice the warning: Warning: the old Envato API is out of date and will be shut down soon
Here you can read about How to generate a Envato Personal Token, we can not do this for you as you have to login to your Envato accountBest regards,
MikeJuly 27, 2021 at 12:36 pm #1312717Hi Mike,
thx. But there are no warning messages in my theme. Could you please have a look?
And the other Enfold theme (I wrote about it) isn’t installed yet. I have an old purchase key and wanted to know what to look out for when reinstalling. How can I do the right thing from the start?
Best regards,
NicJuly 27, 2021 at 1:28 pm #1312741Hi,
OK I probably misunderstood what your last question was, that is the trouble with long threads that cover multiple issues, anyways I thought you were still having trouble with your Token, so I logged into the site you posted and saw you are still using the API.
The screenshot above is from your site, the warning message is the black square
So are you now reinstalling on this site? Any site you install on you will need to use a valid Envato private token the API no longer works, please follow the instructions for How to generate a Envato Personal Token.
If this is still not the issue you wish to work on then please fully explain.
Best regards,
Mike -
