    HI,

    I recently moved from WordPress website from subdomain to the main domain. I used this two plugins to update URLs Better Search Replace & Velvet Blues Update URLs.

    Everything works fine BUT as soon as I change something from Enfold theme options. (Literally anything). Website goes down with Database connection error. & if I set debug true, Error says MAX connection reached.

    I had to reset my DB multiple times just to make it working without changing anything to Enfold theme options.

    Can anyone please suggest. How do I resolve this ?

    Could you use a different method of migrating your site, to see if that works better?

    I have tried pointing to sub directory to root directory without putting wp files on root folder. Result was same.

    I had to put site in live state. So if you can help me figure out this issue. It will be really great. Everything else if working just fine except saving theme options than it just crash.

    Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the late reply!

    Have you tried disabling CSS and JS file merging and compression in Enfold theme options > Performance tab? If you have, does it also throw error after that?
    If it does, would it be possible for you to create a clone testing site where we could test further?

    Better late than never. Thanks for your response.

    This seems to be working now. I’ve disabled merging. So far so good.

    However just out of curiosity, Why it was happening & how this solution worked?

    I believe the issue is related to your server configuration. You can find more information and solution here – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/optimization/#troubleshoot. Could you please refer to that post, disable unique timestamps and check if that helps? :)

    Ok So I have disabled the unique timestamp & selected to Delete old CSS and JS files.

    Now post say it might take some time. So I will check it after some time.

    Ok now Question: So if everything working. I should revert all my changes like enable merging, deselect old CSS & js file delete? Or let it be?
