    Hi there –

I’ve been having a problem with the header on my site, it seems that it’s not behaving the way it used to be, and it also appears that the theme options for adjusting header behavior are no longer working for me.

On most pages, the header starts as transparent and is 163 pixels in height. That looks fine, but now it no longer shrinks when scrolling down. It also remains transparent, instead of reverting to a smaller, white header (which is what it used to do). This makes the main menu very hard to read on most pages once the user scrolls down.

Let me know what else you need from me! I’ve been loving the theme, just having this one issue with it.

    Thank you!

    Hey bourkedesign,

Could you please attach some screenshots of the issue?

Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?

    Best regards,

    Hi acardell887,

Please open a new ticket for your problem. Provide us admin access to have a deeper look into the issue, as well as precise links where we can see the issue. Screenshots highlighting what’s going on would help a lot (imgur.com, dropbox).

Could you please attach some screenshots of the issue?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Victoria –

Below are some screenshots showing the issue, and there are login credentials in the private content box.

Thank you for your help! Let me know if you need anything else.

Screenshot of the top of my About page. This looks correct – when scrolled all the way to the top, this header should be transparent with white text in the main menu: Screenshot #1

Once you begin scrolling, the header is supposed to shrink and revert to a thin, white header with blue text in the main menu, and the logo should revert to the navy blue one. At this point in the scroll, I’m pretty sure the header should be shrinking and visible as thinner and white: Screenshot #2

As you scroll further down the page, the header remains in its transparent format with white text, which makes it very hard for the visitor to see and use the main menu: Screenshot #3

    Hi bourkedesign,

Thanks for the login details and screenshots. First off, could you try updating the theme to the latest version (4.7.6.4) to see if that helps please? https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. If not, then please try installing this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/, then set the jQuery version to 1.12.4, to see if that changes anything.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

Updating the theme was my first thought when this happened, but when I go to Theme Update, it tells me:

“No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.7.5)”

Any idea why I’m not seeing an option to update?

    Hi bourkedesign,

Please try installing this plugin to see if that helps with the update: https://envato.com/market-plugin/. Also please try installing the jQuery migrate plugin which I linked to above.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Rikard –

Thank you! The jQuery migrate plugin did the trick. Any idea how long this will be stable for though? The following notices give me the sense that I can’t rely on this solution long-term:

“This plugin, called Enable jQuery Migrate Helper, is not a fix. It is a temporary solution to give your plugin and theme authors time to update.”

“You are currently using a legacy version of jQuery. It has no support and doesn’t receive security updates. Please upgrade as soon as possible.”

Also – I installed and activated the Envato Market plugin, but I’m still getting this message that the theme is up to date:

“No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.7.5)”

Thanks for your help so far! Relieved that the header is working as it should now, but I’m a little nervous about longevity of the solution (and it’s odd to me that I can’t seem to get the theme update).

    Hi bourkedesign,

Did you try to update via the Envato Market plugin?

    Best regards,
    Victoria

    Hi Victoria,

Ahh I didn’t realize I needed to update via the plugin itself. Just did that and deactivated the jQuery plugin, and it seems to be working for now!

Thank you! I appreciate the assistance.
