    Hi,

Our record shop (https://concerto.amsterdam/) has a website running on Enfold Child Theme (version 1.0). Since an update on WordPress the Avia Layout Builder does nog make changes in the pages on the website anymore. I looked on the forum to see if this a problem thas has occured more.

I read we need to update the theme. On the options on the theme I do not find a username and a API Key. The website was made some years ago by an external party who does nog exist anymore. So I am a unknown about if and were this name and key should be. Is there any way you could help out? Do we need to buy a new licence?

    With kind regards,

    Ruben Eg

    Hey Ruben Eg,

Sorry for the problem. I see that you are running an old version of the theme, and the update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    hi Rikard,
Thanks so much for the fast reply!
I was able to update Enfdold Child to version 3.5.4. But I am not able to update further to 4.7.x. In the 3.5.4 version changes in pages are still not saved in Avia Layout Builder.
I am also not able to register because the developer did not left his user name, API and token behind.
If there is any way you could help me to a next step, you would be a live safer.

    With kind regards,

    Ruben Eg

    Hi Ruben,

Thanks for the update. So you don’t have access to the theme files in a Themeforest account, if I understand you correctly? If that is the case then that is the first step you need to take, either get access from the person who bought the theme, or purchase a new license. After that then please follow the instructions I posted previously, using a copy of the theme files from your Themeforest account.

    Best regards,
    Rikard
