GuestHello,
We are using your theme for our site. As our developer who has the license to the theme left us I am not able to update it. This also means that we can’t update WP which is becoming a security risk and we miss out on all the improvements in both WP and the Theme.
Right now we have WP 5.3.6 and Enfold 4.2
I am happy to buy a new license but like to know if updating it will be painless. We have Woocommerse installed and no sophisticated customization. It’s a quite basic website.
As we are a charitable trust with little resources I’d love to take advantage of the Black Friday deal.
I hope to hear soon

November 28, 2020 at 4:53 am #1263640Hi Dada,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the problem. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
Once you have purchased your license, then you can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,

That price is if you want to Themeforest to install the theme for you. I would advice that you try to follow my instructions above first though, it’s not that difficult to do it yourself. If you need our help then please include admin WordPress and FTP login details in private, and verify that you have backups of the site.
Best regards,
