I have been using the Enfold version 3.x template for many years to my complete satisfaction – an excellent template.
Two weeks ago I upgraded to version 4.7.63. The template has many improvements and works very well.
But – almost immediately the hosting provider alerted me to the increased amount of data:
the “/wp-content/uploads/dynamic_avia” directory contains approx. 16,500 files (mostly *.js) and takes up almost 5 GB.
It is normal?
How to reduce the size of this directory? Do you have any suggestions?
After all – space on the server costs some money …
Hey,
Thanks for contacting us!
Please refer to this post – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/optimization/#troubleshoot. It has a very simple solution :)

You are a genius!
I took the indicated steps
—
– Fix WP bug add unique timestamp or
– Fix WP bug disable unique timestamps
– Disable js and css file merging and compression
– Check Theme options -> Performance -> Delete old CSS and JS files
– Save theme options (this will clean up database and remove all merged files)
… waiting for the server to make changes
– Clear server cache (by recommended “Comet Cache” plugin)
… waiting for the server to make changes
– Enable js and css file merging and compression if desired
– Uncheck Theme options -> Performance -> Delete old CSS and JS files if desired
– Save theme options
… waiting for the server to make changes
—
And the result is astonishing:
of 16,500 files with a total size of approx. 500,000,000 B (5 GB)
became acceptable approx. 400 files with a size of 117,500 MB
Thank you very much!
