GuestI maintain a website that uses Enfold Child. Lately the website displays a line of code. Our webhost updated the PHP version lately, and in your forums I read that this PHP update is probably the cause, but it could be fixed with an update of the theme.
Enfold Child is version 1.0 (active theme)
Enfold is version 4.4.1So the parent theme needs updating. Do you think that would fix the problem?
This would be a question for the support forum but I can’t access that, because I don’t have a registration key. The website was built by another party that we don’t do business with anymore.
Also, without that key I can’t get an update to see if that would fix the problem.
We are willing to pay for the update if necessary.October 4, 2020 at 7:40 am #1250378Hey Marian Sloot,
Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
If you don’t have access to Themeforest or the theme files, then you would have to purchase a license of your own: https://themeforest.net/item/enfold-responsive-multipurpose-theme/4519990
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
Rikard -
