When I update to latest theme my site is a mess. It appears to screw up the css. Had to revert to previous enfold version.
All css changes are in enfold child..

    Hey daves1997,

Can you create a staging site (basically a duplicate of your site placed in your subdomain)? and do the update there, so we can try to inspect it without affecting your live site.
Here’s a tutorial on how to do it: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-staging-site/

I created staging site. Have no idea how to get into it.

    Hi daves1997,

The login credentials should still be the same as the live site. :)

Not sure why temporary login asks for password

    #1235812

    Hi daves1997,

Can we ask for the password?
I tried the login credentials you gave but it didn’t work.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. Could you share the WordPress login page URL for the staging site as well please?

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I updated the staging site to the latest version of the theme, but I can’t see any obvious changes in the styling. Could you point out what is breaking or not applying as it should please? Also please deactivate the caching plugins you have active on the staging site, as they are not needed and cause problems like these.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Dave,

I’m not sure either, but it’s likely that you were getting cached results since you are running caching plugins. Maybe you could try updating again, and make sure to clear the cache from the plugins before checking the results? Also make sure that the option to delete the old CSS and JS files is activated under Enfold->Performance.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    i get this error message

    Admin notice for:
    Special Heading

This element was disabled in your theme settings. You can activate it here:
    Performance Settings

I go to performance settings and there is nothing there to enable this.

The staging site you worked on, has the old enfold theme.
    No wonder it worked.

    Hi,

Please try to select to load all elements in this option to see if that helps: https://imgur.com/a/8ndEGEg

    Hi,

Thanks for the update. I checked your front page but I can’t see any missing images, where exactly are you seeing this problem?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I see the same thing on my end, you are getting a lot of 404 errors on images and resources. The staging site solution which you are using might be causing that, I’m not sure if it’s copying all the content over?

I wanted to check your live site as well, but I couldn’t see which version of the theme you are using? Please share login details for that site as well if you should need further help.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Thanks for that. Please share FTP login details in private as well. Can we try to activate the new version temporarily to check what happens? Also please verify that you have backups of the site.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

Thanks for that. I activated the latest version of the theme on your site, and I can’t see any differences between that and the old version. Could you check and verify on your end as well please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1254630

Only the old theme is active. Updated theme was not used.

    #1255145

    Hi,

The latest version of the theme is running on your live site, you can verify the version under Enfold->Theme Update.
