Hi,
We are using an Enfold child theme on one of our sites, and we keep seeing critical errors since updating it to current WP and PHP versions. It appears to be a conflict between the theme and the revslider plug in (activating this knocks the site down entirely). We’re at a bit of a loss as to how to rectify this currently.
Could you take a look at the staging site below and help us out?
Thanks

Could you please attach some screenshots of the issue?
Can you please check the server log for error?

When we try to activate the latest version of the revslider plugin this is the error we see:

Thanks for that, the htaccess details are not working though. Please check and verify.

These are the correct credentials. You will need to enter the privacy username and password first, and then log into the wpadmin section.
Thanks
May 20, 2020 at 7:03 pm #1214740Hi,
Privacy logins are not working for me either. Please check them once again.
Looking at the error log, this does not seem to be related to Enfold. Have you tried switching to one of the default themes and checking if that works? If it works on default themes, please share FTP logins privately as well.Regards,
YigitMay 27, 2020 at 3:10 pm #1216976Hi,
Yes, we have switched the theme back to the default one and everything works okay.
Please see below for login details and let us know what the issue is.
Thanks
May 27, 2020 at 3:36 pm #1216991Currently, the rev slider plugin is deactivated, but we are still seeing critical errors when trying to edit posts / pages. Switching back to the default theme, these errors do not occur.
We need both the theme and rev slider plugin to be activated for the design of the site to be implemented.May 29, 2020 at 4:27 am #1217565Hi,
Thanks for the update, the htaccess details are working now. I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.7.5) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
RikardMay 29, 2020 at 11:10 am #1217659Hi Rikard,
Thanks for that. Appreciate your help.
Sadly, though, following the steps has resulted in another critical error while updating the theme via the plugin you linked to.
Where do we go from here?
Thanks
May 31, 2020 at 6:45 am #1218133Hi,
Please try to rename the plugin folder in the /wp-content/ folder of your WordPress installation, that will disable all plugins. After that you should hopefully get access to your site and you can enable the plugin one by one after that to see what is causing the problem to happen.
Best regards,
RikardJune 2, 2020 at 9:58 am #1218696With all plugins deactivated, I still cannot access the site. Would this not suggest that the theme is the underlying issue?
June 3, 2020 at 6:15 am #1218919Hi,
If this was a general theme problem then all of our customers would have it, that is not the case so it’s likely something else. What happens if you rename the enfold child and enfold parent theme folders?
Best regards,
Rikard-

June 3, 2020 at 9:32 am #1218984No change. I’ve even tried deleting and re-installing the Enfold theme from scratch, but as soon as we get to the point of a complete installation, a critical error is served. This is with no plug-ins activated.
Thanks.
