Hi, I´m trying to update from Enfold 3.8.5 to 4.7.3 and when I do this web crashes. I´ve enabled debug function and the errors appearing are these. Could you give me a hint of what it can be? (Now I´ve gone back to Enfold 3.8.5)
Thanks so much![16-Mar-2020 10:59:52 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: [] operator not supported for strings in /home/r0i8xqcsd867/public_html/wp-content/themes/enfold/config-layerslider/LayerSlider/includes/slider_markup_init.php:83

Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
RikardMarch 17, 2020 at 5:38 pm #1193863Hi, thanks, I´ve succeeded, only that now sliders get out of the box and when I go inside the administration panel of a page, the panel doesn´t load, it keeps thinking.
I send a screenshot.
thanks!!March 18, 2020 at 6:13 am #1194020Hi,
Thanks for that. What happens if you select to use the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options? If that doesn’t help then please post admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 18, 2020 at 2:07 pm #1194114Hi Rikard, nothing happens if I select to use the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
I send to you login details.
ThanksMarch 19, 2020 at 6:09 am #1194312Hi,

Best regards,
RikardMarch 19, 2020 at 10:50 am #1194359Hi Rikard,

Could you explain a little more?
Thanks!!March 20, 2020 at 4:17 am #1194670Hi,

March 21, 2020 at 4:27 am #1194993Hi,
Thanks for the update. Please try to activate debug mode in order to see builder shortcodes: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-advanced-layout-builder/#debug-mode, then copy all the shortcodes to a new page to see if that helps.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 23, 2020 at 2:38 pm #1195474Hi, sorry, I don´t know what you mean.
I´ve activated dubug mode and I´ve copied all the shortcoes information to a new page I´ve opened.
And now I don´t know what should I expect. I can´t change to Advanced Layout Builder.
I send you a screenshot.
thanks!March 24, 2020 at 8:35 am #1195686Hi,
Thanks for that, but you have pasted the shortcodes to the default WordPress editor on the new page. Please remove the shortcodes again, then activate the Layout Builder. Then you paste the shortcodes into the shortcodes box, just below the regular Layout Builder box.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 25, 2020 at 11:08 am #1197620Hi, I can´t activate advanced layout builder.
I´ve activated dubug mode, I´ve copied the shortcodes code, I´ve opened a new page, and I can´t activate advanced layout builder although I click the button. Nothing happens.
ThanksMarch 26, 2020 at 5:03 am #1197922Hi,
Thanks for the clarification. Please try to deactivate all plugin to see if there is a conflict coming from any of them. If that is not the case then try to completely delete the theme folder, then upload a fresh version from your Themeforest account to see if that helps. If not then please try to activate the parent theme instead of the child.
Best regards,
RikardMarch 26, 2020 at 5:41 pm #1198134I´ve done all that. The problem remains.
An email has arrived to me saying this:
Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with your theme, Enfold.I continue in private content.

March 28, 2020 at 10:51 am #1198537Hi,
Could you please post FTP logins here privately as well?
Also, please contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase “Max_input_time” to “60”? It currently seems to be set to “-1”.Regards,
YigitApril 1, 2020 at 11:00 am #1199692Hi, I put ftp credentials.
Server has changed Max_input_time to 60 already.
Thanks!April 9, 2020 at 1:57 pm #1202297Hi cipriana,

Please check this article:
https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-add-your-wordpress-site-to-google-webmaster-tools/Best regards,
VictoriaApril 13, 2020 at 6:13 pm #1203328Hi, so, do you think that is causing the issue?
In that case, do you know in which file is that code inserted?
I haven´t done it. I guess my client did it.
But I´ll have to fix it. :)Thanks!
