    Hello,

My site was developed in 2015 and uses Enfold Child 1.0. With the latest PHP version, I’m getting fatal errors preventing me from editing pages and posts on my site. I can’t submit support questions because I don’t have the purchase code from the person who created the site.

However, I am open to just buying the latest version if updating it would fix the issues. I can’t figure out what is the latest version of Enfold Child though. Can you please help me determine what would be the most comparable theme version to purchase and upgrade to?

    My domain is FloridaSunWeddings.com.

    Thank you,

    Mayra Velasco

    Hey Mayra,

Sorry for the problem. I see that you are running an old version of the theme (3.3.2), that is the likely reason for your problems. The update to 4.7.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

If you don’t own a license then I would suggest that you purchase a new one, otherwise you will have problems every time you want to update. You won’t receive automatic update either if you don’t have a valid license/token.

Once you have a license then you can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard
