Hello,
I have just tried to update to the latest version of Enfold, and after getting an error message a couple of times and trying again, it finally seemed to have worked, but actually it turns out I’m still with version 4.1.2. I am using a child theme and checked for the new update using the ‘check manually’ link in Enfold Child Theme Options, and followed the instructions from there. Before posting this I thought I’d try again but now it doesn’t even seem to find the new update at all.I have checked the forum for solutions but I am a total rookie and have no idea what FTP’s and so on are, so all the solutions I saw seem quite complicated and I’m a bit scared of making a mistake. Please can you let me know if there is a simple solution?
Thank you,
Steph
PS: I had the same issue when the previous update was released but I thought I’d wait and see if it would happen again and unfortunately it was no better this time.November 29, 2019 at 7:17 pm #1161334Hey Sunshine135789,
Can you give us temporary admin access to your website in the private content box below, so that we can have a closer look?
Best regards,

Sure, that’s great! Please see below login details etc.
Many thanks

StephanieNovember 29, 2019 at 7:45 pm #1161343I have the same issue. I am happy to purchase the new enfold but when I go to do that it just shows “buy another license” — and in my download folder the theme files are not working. Also, if I do it this way (purchase brand new) will I lose my existing site content? impactthings.com
I have tried to reach out to Theme Forest and here on the forum and no one is responding to me. Please advise.
BTW: the reason I need the update is because we cannot edit pages anymore. I downgraded to a previous WordPress and I installed the “disable Gutenberg” — nothing is working.
Help Please and Thank you!
MichelleNovember 30, 2019 at 7:39 am #1161436Same here…I am trying to update the theme on the backend after adding the API code but it does not work. I’m stuck on version 3.8.4 and it says I’m up to date.
December 2, 2019 at 5:25 am #1161722Hi Stephanie,
Sorry for the problem. The update to 4.6.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
RikardDecember 2, 2019 at 5:36 am #1161723Hi Michelle,
You will have to update manually as well, please see instructions above. If you can’t access your purchases on Themeforest then you will have to reach out to their support, you can’t reach them on this forum unfortunately.

RikardDecember 2, 2019 at 5:37 am #1161724December 2, 2019 at 3:49 pm #1161914Hi! Thank you for your reply. Where do we get the update files though? I can access my ThemeForest dashboard but if I purchase Enfold brand new again (which I thought was easier than trying to locate the correct/complete files I needed for the update) it only gives me another license. Is there a link to the complete/update files I can access to download so I can take the recommended steps you outlined?
Sorry to be so confusing! Thanks!
MichelleDecember 2, 2019 at 4:31 pm #1161928Hey Michelle,
Please login on ThemeForest with the account you purchased Enfold and go to downloads page to download the latest version of the theme – https://themeforest.net/downloads :)
Cheers!
YigitDecember 2, 2019 at 5:10 pm #1161938Hey Rikard / Kriesi Team,
Thanks a lot for your help with this, I used the plugin to upload the theme zip file and it all went smoothly :)
I also followed the additional recommendations and added the new token as instructed, and all went well too :)Many thanks again
Kind regards
StephaniePS: Michelle, once you are on the download page and click on the download button, you’ll have the choice to download “All files & documentation” and “Installable WordPress file only”. I wasn’t sure which one to download so I downloaded both in order to check the content of each folder, and in the end I just used the “Installable WordPress file only”.
