    Hi,
Please see link to screenshot in private content. Token works and connects, but says ‘no update’. I am not the owner of the Envato Account, but I maintain the website.
You have installed the last update, but I need to get update notifications and I need to be able to update the theme myself.

    Can you please help?

    Thanks, Elisabeth

I have the same Issue. It says:
No Updates available. You are running the latest version! (4.1.2)

    #1158716

    Hi,

The update to 4.6.x has to be done manually from all version including and below 4.4.1, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,
I need to be able to update Enfold without it taking me hours to do so.
The problem is still the same (see before in this ticket, especially the screenshot).

Issues: 1. I am not the account holder of the Envato account, so I do not receive a message when there is an update available.
    2. I cannot download the latest version of the theme

Besides, I don’t want to have manually update every time

My customer is mad because it is taking so much time to update. He is willing to pay for another new license which will be bought with my Envato account, but only if it will this solve the problem. Will it??

    Hope you can help, thanks

    Hey,

To receive update notifications and to be able to update the theme from WordPress dashboard, you would need to generate a Personal Token in your Envato account, the one you use when purchasing the theme.

If you insert a valid Personal Token and still do not receive updates, please contact your hosting provider and ask them to whitelist api.envato.com. They might be blocking it for security reasons.

Another user who was having the same issue contacted their hosting provider and replied:

our hoster has updated the Linux distribution of the server.
The cause of the problem was probably the incompatibilities of the versions of OpenSSL with cURL.

Now the token API works :-)

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    Hi,
There is a valid token, but the theme is not updating.
The site is hosted with Siteground and I asked them to look into it like you said. These are the replies. What he says about manual updates I don’t understand, but it is clear they cannot find the reason why the API is not working properly.

    =============================
    inzicht0@it32 [~]# curl -I api.envato.com
    HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently

    Location: https://api.envato.com/
    Server: cloudflare

This confirms that there are currently no limitations for connections with api.envato.com from our side.

I was not able to find the reason why your theme can not be updated even manually. This being said I could suggest that you contact the theme developers for further assistance on the matter.

Should any assistance on the matter is needed on our end, please reopen this ticket and provide us with more information.

    Hi Elisabeth,

Thanks for the update, but what I wrote earlier in this thread still applies; the update from any version including and below 4.4.1 needs to be done manually. The reason for that is also included in my first post. If you don’t have access to the theme files then please reach out to the person who does or purchase a license if you don’t already own one.

You won’t be able to update your site any other way than what I listed in my first reply. If you need help doing so then we can help you out, but then we need verification of license ownership and that you have backups of your site. We also need WordPress and FTP access details.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hello Rikard,
The theme IS on 4.6.2 as can be seen in the screenshot/screencast and wp admin.
4.6.3 is out, but it won’t update or show a notification that there is an upate.

    Hi Elisabeth,

Thanks for the clarification, I though you were running an earlier version. Please send us a temporary WordPress admin login and login URL so that we can have a closer look. You can post the details in the Private Content section of your reply.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi,

This issue occurs on certain installations however we have not found out why yet but seems like it is related to server settings or a plugin conflict. Could you please post FTP logins here privately as well so we can check your config file?

    Best regards,
    Yigit

    #1175551

Hi, I have tried before with all plugins deactivated.
Siteground couldn’t find a reason why their server settings wouldn’t allow the api to work, but if you can find a reason nontheless, please let me know.

Hope you can find out why it’s not working. it really is a problem.
Thanks. FTP credentials are in private content section.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the info.

Try to delete the database transients to refresh the update cache. You can use the the following plugin.

    // https://wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/

Please don’t forget to create a restore point before using the plugin.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    #1176666

    Hi Ismael,

The plugin you suggested didn’t work. I saw 2 notifications, saying that function is integrated in WP 4.9, ‘please remove’plugin. The settings page didn’t show anymore either.
I then intalled WP Optimizer because I knew that has a transient cleaner function. I ran it, but it makes no difference.

Since version 4.7.1 is out by now and we are still on 4.6.2 because of this issue, would you update the theme please?

Also,if this cannot be solved (seems that way) can you please make updates available for me somewhere so I can download them? And is there a way to get notifications of new updates?

    Thanks.

    #1177055

    Hi Elisabeth,

We’re very sorry for the problem, we can’t tell for sure why you are not getting updates unfortunately. I installed the Envato Markets plugin for you, could you try adding your API there to see if that makes any difference please?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    #1177506

    Hello Rikard,
This is really weird! I copied the API from the Enfold update settings into the Envato Market plugin (since I am not the Envato account holder from where the license was bought). When I checked for updates, I saw an error:

“Incorrect token permissions, please generate another token or fix the permissions on the existing token.’

I had already asked the account holder to check the token twice, so I was a bit ticked off… however, within 30 minutes, I saw an update notification for the theme in the theme settings.
To test, I removed the Envato market plugin again and with that the update notification in the theme settings was gone again.
So I reinstalled. Apparently, the token permissions are correct after all, despite the error notification.

It seems no one can explain this, but at last, it works :-) and I have updated the theme to 4.7.

    Thanks for looking into it.
    Elisabeth
