Dear Kriesi Staff,
I’ve been having this problem since the latest update and though I’ve searched through the posts and found some guidance on what can be done, I really don’t have the skills to edit the website using FTP…
Is there any chance I could get assistance with fixing this problem.
My best regards,
NabilNovember 12, 2019 at 9:36 am #1155924Hey Nabil,
After logging in there is screen asking for extra authentication, what do we put in there? Also please try to explain the problem you are having a bit further since I’m not sure I fully understand it.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 12, 2019 at 12:56 pm #1155984Thank you Rikard for getting back to me.
I have disabled the 2 Step authentication plugin. You should be able to login this time.
As for my problem, you’ll notice when you try to edit any page, an error pops up… and although you can still edit many sections… many blocks where I have text have become uneditable. Where there used to be a line of text for example, is now a random page full of text which makes it almost impossible to edit…
I hope that makes sense. Let me know if you need anything else.
And thank you very much for your assistance.November 13, 2019 at 5:45 am #1156276Hi,
Thanks for that. I see that you are running an old version of the theme, could you try to update to the latest version (4.6.3.1) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.6.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
I also see that you are running an old PHP version, please update that to 7.1 or 7.2 as well.
Best regards,
RikardNovember 13, 2019 at 8:27 pm #1156490Thank you Rikard. I was able to update the Enfold theme using the plugin you recommended.
I’ve already tested out editing text and it finally works.
I really appreciate your help. I hope you have an amazing life!
My best regards,
