Hello, A few years back a designer built a WP site for me using the enfold theme (child). I’ve been maintaining things since. I’m no expert, but functional to make changes to the site. Yesterday while editing a page, the Avia builder became unstable and won’t load pages nor allow a switch to the default editor. Its just stuck. All pages in the site are unable to load. I’m running WP 4.7.15 and enfold 3.5.2 I’ve researched fixes, but have had no luck and restoring the site to a version from about a week ago didn’t change the behavior. I’ve wondered if the theme needs to be re-installed. I don’t have an account with you since my designer made the site. Do I need to purchase a single user for Enfold to be able to fix this perhaps with an upgrade? I would have tried your tech support page, but without an account I cant’t.

    Thanks, Adam Greenberg

    Hey Adam Greenberg,

Sorry for the problem. The version of the theme and WordPress which you are running are both very old, you will likely need to update them both.

The update to the latest version of the theme (4.6.3.1) has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541

You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.

After you have updated then try to activate the Classic Editor in the main page of the theme options.

Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/

    Best regards,
    Rikard

I mentioned in my original post that I don’ have an account with your company since a designer made my site. He is not available anymore, so do I need to purchase a license for the Enfold theme. Please remember, I am NOT a designer just a hacker.

    Hi Adam Greenberg,

Yes, if you want to have access to this forum and get support, you need to purchase the license again. This way you will be in control of the ThemeForest account and will be able to download a fresh copy of the theme.

If you need further assistance please let us know.
    Best regards,
    Victoria
