Hello. On my page I have added several Color Sections. After every element, there is a <div> element with an id starting with after_section (e.g. after_section_3). Each of these <div> elements has a height (coming from padding on a particular child element; screenshot). As you can see, the height on each element is adding excess vertical white space to the page, and resulting in inconsistent vertical spacing between color sections. I would like to resolve this issue so there is no excess white space. What is exactly are these <div> elements? Why are they added? Is there a way to ensure they are not added? If not, what is the best way to ensure they add no extra height?

    Thanks.

    Hey FeedXL2019,

    Thank you for the update.

Did you add any lone elements after those sections? The “after_section” will only be created when there are additional elements outside or after a color section.

Please post the login details in the private field so that we can check the content of the builder.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

I don’t see any sections other than several ‘color sections’ in a row.

OK in the private field I have given you access to my private dev site, as well as the page in-question.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the late response.

We get this error when we try to login to the site.

LOGIN BLOCKED: 2FA is required to be active on all administrator accounts.

Can you disable the 2FA temporarily?

    Best regards,
    Ismael

OK sorry about that. I’ve disabled 2FA now so you should be able to login.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the update.

We moved the color sections around, updated the page and brought them back to their original position, then updated the page again. We did that to regenerate the shortcodes and remove the unnecessary spaces.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

OK interesting. Any idea why the issue occurred in the first place?

As a follow-up, I have to re-do the same fix on my live site: https://feedxl.com/about-us/ If I gave you a login, would you be able to do the same thing on that page?

    #1133664

    Hi,

Yes, we can do the same procedure in the live site. You can actually do it by moving the color section before the previous section, update the page and then move it back to the original position. Do the same thing for the next section.

    Thank you for the update.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Hi Ismael,

I’d prefer if you repeated the same on the live site. You can login at https://feedxl.com/, using the same credentials.

Also, what about the other question I asked: Any idea why the issue occurred in the first place?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

It’s probably caused by spaces in the shortcode field that were left after deleting elements, which is mistakenly detected by the builder as actual elements, so the builder wraps them inside a section container.

We edited the page same as the staging site.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

    Great thanks–I see those edits.

OK. So how can I prevent that from occurring in the future?

    Hi,

OK. So how can I prevent that from occurring in the future?

You can set the builder to debug mode and set the “Enfold Shortcode Parser” to auto repair the shortcodes every update.

    // https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/intro-to-layout-builder/#debug-mode

You should find the shortcode parser below the builder once the debug mode is activated.

So I should leave my live site perpetually in debug mode? Isn’t that ill advised?

    #1136454

    Hi,

It’s not the site that’s in debug mode, only the builder. And by “debug mode”, it just means that you’ll be able to edit the builder shortcodes directly.

    Thank you for the update.

    Best regards,
    Ismael

OK thanks for the help. We can consider this resolved.

    Hi,

You’re welcome. Please don’t hesitate to open a new thread if you need anything else.

    Have a nice day.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
