Hello,
I created a website for my client a few years ago using Enfold. My client is finding it difficult to access her website without having to disable her Firewall – an error appears unless she removes the firewall, and in which case maybe some of her clients are also not able to view the website.
Currently the site (it said up to date) is Version 4.0.5. I manually ran an update on WordPress and then attempted to manually run an update on the theme after to which it failed. Would I have to update the theme by purchasing the latest version, and then installing and activating the newest version of the theme? Do you think this will help with the Firewall issue??
Thanks!
Hey FA123,
Sorry for the problem. The version of the theme you are running is old, could you try to update to the latest version (4.5.7) to see if that helps please? The update to 4.5.x has to be done manually from the version you are running, please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You can either update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update, or use a plugin to upload the theme zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/
If that doesn’t work then please try to delete the whole theme folder, then replace it with the new version. Make sure that you have backups of the site before starting updating.
Also please read this after you have updated: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/theme-registration/
Best regards,
Rikard
