GuestDear guys at Kriesi.at,
Currently, a web developer suggested me to migrate to your Enfold-theme for the re-launch of my website. He also set up a prototype for me.
Before I now buy your theme and finally switch to it, I have a question concerning a strange behavior:
Every time I click on a menu or sub menu item, the menu itself and the sub-title of the page (text under page title; no logo) visibly disappears and appears again – like a blinking off and on. Is this a feature of your theme or just an error in the implementation?
The effect is most prominent with the chrome browser and independent of a provider (this is tested).
On your websites implemented with Enfold, I do not see this strange behavior. It would be great to get a respond from you. Maybe you immediately know what the problem is. Otherwise I might unfortunately decide not to buy Enfold.
Thanks a lot in advance, Yours Frank
March 17, 2019 at 4:35 pm #1079626Hey Frank Escher,
I checked and here is what I am seeing. Do not seem to reproduce your issue , the pages just reload fine as they should.
Please check the screencat in private and let us know how to reproduce the issue.
Best regards,

GuestDear Victoria,
Your video exactly reproduces what I mentioned:
On clicking a menu item, regularly the whole menu itself and the subtitle disappear and appear again (on-and-off-flickering). And it seems that they are re-positioned by moving up to their final position. This does not apply to the main title (the company name): see e.g. second 27 of your screencat (image sent in private section).
I do not see this odd behavior in your web page here. Although I can understand that elements within a page could behave like that (old page content switch to new page content), header elements should not flicker, right?
The menu and the subtitle (like the title) are header elements. Here my questions:
1) Is this a normal behavior of the theme?
2) If not, what is wrong?
3) Is it the same forum issue like #862968 (‘flickering on header with chrome and fixed frame layout’)?
4) What to do to fix it?Thanks for your help in advance. Best regards, Frank
March 19, 2019 at 8:05 am #1080238Hi Frank Escher,
This is normal, the page is reloaded and the elements are rendered by the browser. Menu position is adjusted by Javascript and until it’s ready the menu will not adjust and other elements that have animations will not show up. Your page is working fine. There is nothing wrong with it.

GuestDear Victoria,
Ignoring the unresolved issue by just saying everything is fine,
– doesn’t solve the obvious problem and
– doesn’t help you to sell your product to me.
Right?Best regards, Frank
March 20, 2019 at 7:34 pm #1080982Hi Frank,
I checked your website on Chrome on macOs and attached a screencast in private content field. It does not flicker on my end like it does on Victoria’s. Only social icon does. I checked our demos and definitely there is not such flicker there. Therefore i am thinking it might be related to your performance options in Enfold theme options. Could you please try adjusting them and install a caching plugin and check the results once again?

GuestDear Yigit,
Thanks for your reply.Your described observation (social icon) might have the same reason as my described flickering (menu and text items). Both odd behaviors are on different browsers and hardware systems with Chrome/Safari.
Testing it with WP Super Cache did not resolve it.
BUT I could separate the root cause now for flickering of menu/text items:
Their font ‘titillium web’ is locally installed on my server (imported via Enfold Child Font Manager’s Import feature).
If I instead load the font via https from Goolge (functions.php/style.css) the texts do not flicker anymore.
You and Victoria should check my site now again.BUT flickering of social icon and the other icons on the site still occur!
Here font ‘fontello’ is still locally installed on my server, although the social icon is entypo-fontello’.My question and request:
Can you fix the problem so that I can locally load ‘titillium web’ and ‘fontello’ (for DSGVO reasons)?
(I let check the issue by a web developer: he found the same on an fully independent installation server/ WP/Enfold).Best regards and thanks in advance, Frank
March 25, 2019 at 3:58 pm #1082722Hi,
Could you please go to Enfold theme options > Performance and make sure “Load google fonts in footer” is unchecked?
Default Fontello fonts including social icons are installed on your server. You can refer to this post – https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/social-share-buttons/#how-to-add-custom-social-icons-to-enfold-options and add additional ones.
Also, would you consider displaying pre-loader and Page Transitions? You could enable it in Enfold theme options and your pages would be displayed after they are fully load.
Best regards,

GuestHi Yigit,
-> Google fonts in footer: Is already unchecked.
-> Fontello font icons: The social icons are default fonts. Why do they flicker? Because of the additional icons?
-> Additional Fontello icons: I only added just a few extra icons, which are not included as default. They also flicker.
-> Displaying pre-loader and Page Transitions: Only if nothing other helps anymore :-/Would like to see the problem solved.
Thanks Yigit. Best regards, FrankMarch 29, 2019 at 1:22 am #1084357Hi,
Their font ‘titillium web’ is locally installed on my server (imported via Enfold Child Font Manager’s Import feature).
Is the site hosted on a shared server? Slow server response time could cause this issue because it’s not able to load the font files immediately. Optimizing the site speed should decrease the delay. The following articles should help.

GuestHi all of you,
The site in question was tested on 2 different servers: on both the problem was prominently visible and disturbing.
Another test with a 3rd server and a different WordPress & Enfold installation also showed the problem with the locally installed font. A web developer and visitor of this forum did this test.My conclusion up to now:
The problem of flickering occurs due to a not resolved problem of enfold theme with a locally installed Titillium font.
My decision:
I have not yet decided to buy your theme. I am not yet convinced. You can close this thread now as, not solved.
Nevertheless, many thanks for your efforts helping me. Best regards, Frank
April 2, 2019 at 7:10 pm #1086211Hi Frank Escher,
Thank you for considering Enfold. We wish you to find the theme the works best for you. No matter which theme it will be.
Best regards,
