    Dear Kriesi team,

A couple of weeks ago I added a phone icon to the phone number in the header. I then got the message

    Admin notice for:
    Icoon
This element was disabled in your theme settings. You can activate it here:
    Performance Settings

So I selected ‘Always load all elements’ for the “Disabling of template builder elements” function and the icon was shown nicely. So far so good.

Now I want to boost the loading speed and I would like to use the recommended “Load only used elements” again. According to this post the shortcode tree has to be regenerated. I followed these instructions, but apparently this does not work for shortcodes in the header.

    Please advice.

    Hey Jan_FtFA,

It’s not absolutely necessary to use that option in order to speed up your site, a caching or minification plugin should be able to do the same thing. Maybe you could go for that option instead?

    Best regards,
    Rikard

We have a similar issue. The recommended solution to “Always load all elements” is not a good solution. It slows down the website no matter what other tricks you use afterwords to speed it up again. We should be able to find the root cause. The issue is for both of us that we created custom icons and use these as a font. The custom icons display only when we select “Always load all elements”. To our surprise, this “error” appeared after we copied our website to a new server. On the old server we were able to see the icons with the settings “Load only used elements”. On the new server, same website, the error message came suggesting to change the Performance Settings. Same website. Difference was the php version. Old 7.0 and on the new 7.3 No idea if that makes a difference in the functionality. We would be interested in a solution. Loading all Elements is too slow.

    Hi Milano,
I agree with your comments. I implemented the suggested fix of Rikard as I wanted to move on with the project, yet in broader view it does not fix the root cause.

@ Rikard: Please note that “Load only used elements” is the option that is identified as recommended in the menu. I expect options, that are presented without some kind of warning, to work, let alone options that are recommended. I think it would be good ‘house keeping’ of Kriesi to get this option working again, or at least to clarify the situation as external factors, such as PHP versions are at play.

With regards to the latter: I am not sure what PHP my site is running on because I have conflicting information: ?php phpinfo() shows 7.1.10 yet PHPadmin says 5.6.31. I dropped a question at my provider and I let you know when I have more info.

    Hi Jan_FtFA,

Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the late reply. I tried loggin into your site but there is a .htaccess login prompt before coming to the login page. Could you post those details in private as well please?

    @milano24ore
; please open a new thread and include WordPress admin login details in private so that we can have a closer look at your site if you should need any help.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Jan,

Thanks for that. First of all, please update to the latest version of the theme (4.5.7) to see if that makes any difference: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,
Sorry for my late reply, I somehow missed the notification of your message.
I now have Enfold 4.5.2 installed and I tried the “Load only used elements” option again, but unfortunately I the problem remains

    Best,
    Jan

create a post with the needed elements – which you do not link in your menu – maybe you exclude this post from search.
Or if you know all of the elements you used – activate them manually

    Hi,

The theme can only recognize shortcodes in the builder itself or those added in widgets. You may need to extract the html of the icon shortcode and use it in the phone field instead of the actual icon shortcode.

    Best regards,
    Ismael
