I updated my staging Enfold Parent theme from 4.5 to 4.5.1.
Can you please provide which files need to be manually copied from Enfold Parent to the Enfold Child?
Please provide path of files.
Thank youDecember 8, 2018 at 6:37 am #1042354Hey classywebsites,
I’m not sure which files you are referring to, a child theme is used to override the parent theme.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 8, 2018 at 5:35 pm #1042498Hi Rikard,
Moderator Ismael, said users need to manually “update the header.php and helper-main-menu.php file in the child theme folder after the upgrade“. With each Enfold Parent update, certain Enfold Child files need to be changed. The top of the support forum does not have a fixed thread of instructions on which files and path are needed to be manually updated in the Enfold Child when updating the Enfold Parent.
See:
update the header.php and helper-main-menu.php file in the child theme folder after the upgradeDetails for live site running Enfold 4.5.1 with WordPress 5.0 in Private Content below.
Please help. Thank you.December 9, 2018 at 7:00 am #1042676Hi,
Yes that is true if those files are added to the child theme in question for whatever reason, they are not there by default. If you need the parent theme files then you can find them in your parent theme and transfer them to your child.

I am not sure what you mean by ‘whatever reason’.
Why would my Child Theme and other users’ Child Theme (llike @medi-paper – see old thread link above) need the same 2 files already in Enfold Parent?
Please see my Private Content for my ftp login to better answer the question.
Thank you.December 11, 2018 at 7:31 am #1043588Hi,
Whatever reason means whatever reason you have to override parent theme files from your child. Like I wrote before, there is nothing in a basic child theme but empty functions.php and style.css files. If you need to override files then simply add them to your child theme and add the customisations there.
Did you update the header.php and helper-main-menu.php file in the child theme folder after the upgrade? Please use the latest versions of those files.
The answer is clearly written in the thread you linked to. The latest versions of those files can be found in your parent theme.
Best regards,
RikardDecember 11, 2018 at 2:04 pm #1043757Hi Rikard,
I removed the header.php file in the Child Theme folder and helper-main-menu.php in the Child Theme includes folder.
They are no longer necessary after updating the Parent Theme to Enfold 4.5.1.
My site works great without them in the Child Theme.
Thank you.Please close this thread.
