Hi
I have 8 sites with the Enfold theme and the upgrade did not run on any of them. The error is – An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. Problem uploading theme
I also have another site (at my day job) and when I checked that it stated that the site was up to date but it isn’t because it is on 3.8, so i couldn’t test it to see if it worked.
Is there something wrong with the Theme Update option as I have always found this to be very reliable?
Hope you can shed some light on this, I have added details for 2 of the sites below, cheers Kinnear
November 6, 2018 at 7:18 am #1030248Hi,
I just tried on one of my sites after deleting an backup plugin that I’ve had trouble with before. On the WordPress Update page it stated that the theme was on the current version. I then checked the Them Update in the Enfold options screen and it stated I had an older version so I clicked to update from there and received the below error.
An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.
I also just realised the links to the websites I provided are the old ones before I updated the SSL Certificates, could this be the issue? Please use these:
November 6, 2018 at 9:43 am #1030316Hi,
Sorry for the problem, the update to 4.5 has be done manually unfortunately. Please refer to my replies in this thread: https://kriesi.at/support/topic/enfold-4-5-theme-update-update-failed-download-failed-a-valid-url-was-not-pro/#post-1021541
You could update manually via FTP: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. Please note that you might have to delete the old version before you upload the new one in order for it to install properly, or use a plugin like this in order to upload the new zip file: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/.

November 7, 2018 at 10:46 am #1030793Hi alt74-jurgen,
Sorry for the problem, did you try the plugin option? You could also try to delete the old version from Appearance->Themes then upload the new version as usual. If you should need help updating then please open a new thread and include all the necessary access details in private.

RikardDecember 7, 2018 at 1:44 am #1041884Hi, I’m still having issues with this. I was able to do one of my sites, can you please confirm if you need a different token for each site? I couldn’t find this information on the Envato site.
cheers Kinnear

Yes, you need a different token for each website. Are you having troubles with updating via FTP?
