I’ll provide the reference link and screenshot in private section below.

The mobile menu has a parent item with dropdowns, but the parent item does not open on mobile devices.

It is a Custom Link and I’ve tried leaving it blank and tried using only #.

Current theme is a child of 4.1.2 but I don’t feel it is necessary to update the whole theme to 4.4 for this single fix.

Looking forward to your help soon, thank you.

    Hey WebDevDept,

I’m not sure if that it’s the problem but as I can remember we had problems with that in the version you are running. Wouldn’t it be better to update to the latest version? There are a lot of new features that you are missing out on otherwise: https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/changelog/

https://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/how-to-install-enfold-theme/#theme-update. Please note that you might have to delete the old version before you upload the new one in order for it to install properly.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hey Rikard.

What is the best way to update the parent Enfold theme on a live site?

    Hi,

You will have to update manually to 4.5 since the automatic updates are not working anymore in the versions before that. The easiest way is probably to use a plugin like this which will enable you to update with a zip file downloaded from your Themeforest account: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/

Updating a production site directly is always risky, I would recommend that you do it on a staging version first. If you don’t have a staging site then at least keep proper backups of the site in case you should need to roll back. If you want a very safe process of updating then you should try to follow something like this.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Thanks, Rikard.

I did stage the site and updated via FTP and found no issues. Then I updated the live site and all is well.

I appreciate your tips and I will definitely look into your additional recommendations.

    Thanks again!
