Hi
I have attempted to update to the 4.5 update across two sites and had the same issue:An error occurred while updating Enfold: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.
or
Update Failed: Download failed. A valid URL was not provided.
The link to the Theme Update Details also seems to be broken.
Can you advise when this is going to be resolved.

There doesn’t seem to be any info yet on an update on their changelog yet, or on ThemeForest. Eagerly awaiting.
The complete 4.5 changelog can be found by downloading the theme again from Themeforest. It is in the zip file and is updated to include 4.5 changes, etc. Don’t know why they just didn’t copy/paste it to the version on the web-based documentation page.
Got the same problems – it’s not possible again to update to 4.5. – same error message as Eddygame.
Quite annoying to be honest since I have had this issue also with update to 4.4.1 – I had to outsource it to somebody and pay for the update that it works. I don’t want that this is going on this way!!!!
I’ve been very happy with your theme for ages and recommended it to all my clients but now I’m absolutely not happy anymore! So I hope you guys are coming up with a solution that works and is as user friendly as it was before all this!!!

Sorry for the problems. The update problem should be fixed in the latest release, which is 4.5. It’s not working if you are running 4.4.1, since the fix was included in the current release. If you should need help updating to 4.5 then please open your own threads and include WordPress admin login details and FTP details in private.
This problem was not caused by us, there was a change in the Envato API which changed the way they handle automatic update.

If want to try to update the theme using this plugin then please try doing so: https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/, it should allow you to update the theme with the .zip file which you can download from your Themeforest account.

I have downloaded the .zip for Enfold 4.5
Can confirm that following the instructions on response #1021584
“You can simply go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme and upload enfold.zip file of Enfold 4.5 and theme will be overwritten.”is not working for me… tested on two sites and getting:

Yigit, can you confirm that this is the case please. Do I need to check all my settings across 30+ websites thoroughly after updating the theme via the zip??? I could take a copy of the theme settings on each prior to updating???This is becoming quite a task – I am hoping that the fix mentioned within – 4.5 – resolves this issue.

@meuwessen: I am pretty sure you will keep all the theme settings etc. in case you are using a child theme of Enfold. I am testing this on my local setup right now to see what happens if I completely remove the enfold folder via FTP and then upload version 4.5.@michaelH:
What I have done is:
1. Install Update Theme and Plugins from Zip File
2. In plugin settings selected Check to ENABLE saving a backup copy of old version of theme or plugin when you upload new one
3. Uploaded and installed Enfold 4.5 as new theme
4. Updated my token
5. All works fine and no changes noticed within the theme.
Shouldn’t this be made sure it’s working using the theme’s own update section before it’s released? Seems like clunky workarounds…
I tried to do it after downloading the newest version of the theme (4519990) and installing it AFTER having installed the https://wordpress.org/plugins/update-theme-and-plugins-from-zip-file/ plugin – but it answered: “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”.
Also: i love the demos, but sometimes struggle to decode how they’re done. Where can i see what elements they are built of? Or should i install them first? And if so, how do i do that in a safe place?

You probably tried to install the whole zip file with everything including docs etc inside. Please extract that zip file to find the enfold.zip file and try again. This should end up that you will not have the “missing style.css” error again.Regarding your other question: A safe place to play around and test new things can for example be provided by a service called “Local by flywheel” – just search for it and you will see what it is.
