Hello all,
This is so frustrating. I’m using a Video slide within a full-width slideshow – and the ‘disable autoplay’ checkbox is unchecked – yet my video refuses to autostart. I tried adding autoplay=1 or autoplay=”on” and that doesn’t work either. Please help. Thank you!
Hey James,
If you mean the header image, it started up immediately for me. Have you cleared your cache a few times over? Also, are you having this issue on desktop?
Best regards,
Jordan Shannon
Hello Jordan,
The test started immediately for you? I’m on an imac and whether I try Safari or Firefox it refuses to start up. What are you using?
Hi,
I’m using Chrome on a PC.
Best regards,
Jordan Shannon
Hi @jamesgeiger and Jordan Shannon,
I had the same issue. I’ve been troubleshooting and noticed that when I uncheck “Mute Video Player,” that’s when it won’t auto start — even though “Disable Autoplay” is also unchecked. Jordan, you’re right — in Chrome and even Firefox it works fine, but in Safari, it won’t autoplay. In digging further into preferences in Safari, here’s the issue: Preferences > Websites > Auto-Play, be sure it’s set to “Allow All Auto-Play” in lower right rather than “Stop Media with Sound.” So, if it’s not working within any given browser, check preference settings.
Hope that helps!
Hey imagestudios,
Thanks so much for your input on this topic!
Best regards,

OMG Jordan – THANK YOU – I really was pulling my hair out on this and never considered the Preferences panel for Safari. Brilliant!!
My best,
Jim Geiger
